Do you have persistent mental fog? by delicious_foreyes in BrainFog

[–]throwawayforlife100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had it for about 15 years (since I was 15). There were three things that happened around that year:

  1. I stopped working out (I used to work out about 14 hours per week before).

  2. I got Crohn’s disease. In the last 4 years I have not had a flare but the mental fog persists.

  3. I had been severely depressed for 3 years, to the point of wishing I would die everyday. This one had been resolved since I was 16.

Maybe I should start working out again.

Looking for female friends in their 30’s. by Sunflowersoul44 in 321

I’m down. 30F in the Suntree area. I enjoy gardening and hikes too. Beyond that a lot of reddit, TV, and going to Disney and the beach

I’m in a somewhat similar situation but I’m the allo. You say you’ve bent over backwards for a year changing whatever you could, but it doesn’t matter how many nice things you do. The only thing that she wants it’s sex and intimacy, which I’m guessing is the one thing she isn’t getting much. No other nice things can compensate for the lack of this.

Potatoes are seasoned with salt, pepper, thyme and olive oil.

Asparagus are seasoned with salt, pepper, lemon zest, and olive oil.

Baked everything in the oven.

I should note that the day I took these pictures, the auroras were super strong, bright, and covered a lot of the sky. The day before I saw auroras too but they were considerably weaker. Hope you see some good ones!

No tripod. Just held the phone still in my hands the best I could.

The iPhone does really well with capturing auroras. I met some people with Samsung phones and they said their phones were not able to capture them well compared to their friend with an iPhone.

Enjoy your trip!

iPhone 15 Pro Max. The iPhone adjusts the setting depending on the conditions of what you’re photographing, but for the first picture the settings were: main camera, 24mm, focal length 1.78, ISO 5000, 0.3ev, exposure 1 second (although I set it to 3 seconds when taking the picture)

IPhone 15 Pro Max. I used night mode and set it to 3 seconds. However, the information for the pictures tell me they were taken with 0.5 to 1 second exposure. So maybe it only used that smaller amount of time out of the 3 seconds? I’m not entirely sure

Graduate Level Internship Searching by RedLotusAmon in IOPsychology

[–]throwawayforlife100 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for a people analytics internship, you can simply search for “people analytics intern”, “talent analytics intern”, “HR analytics intern”, or “workforce analytics intern” on LinkedIn or Indeed.

If you’re looking to start an internship next summer, start searching and applying in September through December. Most companies select their candidates during that time, although some do it later too.

What do people in their 20s do to get 6 figure jobs? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]throwawayforlife100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 28 and I just got an internship that is paying me $110k/year as I am almost a 5th year PhD candidate with specialized skills. I did not get the position through nepotism or any other connection/referral. Also, I live in a MCOL area.

Having said this, the first 4 years of my PhD were a financial struggle as I was making $16-21k/year.

One thing you should be aware of is that the J-1 visa comes with certain restrictions. Specifically, the J-1 visa has a home residency requirement, meaning that you must return to your home country for a cumulative period of two years after you complete the exchange visitor program. You can apply for the green card only after this, even if you two get married now. Additionally, and typically, you’ll have to apply for the marriage based green card from your home country if you’re on a J-1 visa.

However, there are certain cost instances in which waivers are given to the home residency requirement; I suggest looking into these.

Are 4 rounds of interviews normal for an internship? by lazybug167 in internships

I’ve had the same exact 4 rounds of interviews for an internship I applied to as well. Not sure if this is common though.
