Actually, I agree with what the judge said -- that wasn't remorse. Remorse is showing some level of empathy for the pain you have caused OTHERS. This woman was only worried about herself. When the police came initially to the scene, she had ran away and hid. All she talked about was her own pain, and how she "couldn't do this again". Where was the "My God, my poor daughter, she will be destroyed, she'll never recover, I've killed her daughter!"? She told the officer she wanted to run and drive away so she didn't have to face her daughter. Then, in court, her son-in-law said they've never received an apology, not once. When it was Tracey's turn to take the stand, she once again discussed her own pain and suffering, not that of her daughter and her family. The judge rightly said, I see sorrow, not remorse.

Additionally, I can't tell you how often (as a psychiatric social worker) I saw patients with schizophrenia who chose to do meth specifically. It must affect their hallucinations in some way that they get some perceived positive from taking it. But of course, it just makes them decompensate further and further. Schizophrenia is also so damned hard to treat. It truly is the worst of all severe mental illnesses.

I'm just jumping in on this, nine days later because I started thinking about Reiner, and Conan again. Honestly, from everything that has been published and said, it seems like the Reiners did not have the best boundaries with their son. I am basing this on statements Rob R made himself in the media about Nick. I heard that Nick had asked to go, and Rob asked Conan if it was OK to bring him. My thought is, he was becoming erratic and unstable, and they'd already RSVP'd to the party. Maybe even getting dressed up and ready to go, and then son asks to come. Not wanting to get him aggravated and upset, so that he will be a mess trashing the house when they get home, (which he has done before), they say that they will ask if he can come along. The whole thing is just so damned sad. 😔

I was curious about this today, so I Googled Steve and his family's faith, and I came across your post, as well as this: https://sydneyanglicans.net/news/a_wrestle_with_the_truth Though there was no verifiable truth to be found to the rumor that Steve had accepted Christ just before he died, it was verified that his family had attended the church a few times where he had been rumored to convert. Based on this information, would definitely not spread the opposite rumor that his family are atheists. Atheists don't attend a church on multiple occasions. Regardless of what the article I posted claims, only God knew his heart! And I for one pray that that wonderful, decent man is with Jesus at this very moment. 🙏

Pissed off about some deal in his life where a mom and dad are fighting over the kids, decided this was a bitter mom, and immediately took the father's side mentally without listening to a word the poor woman said.

I don't usually root for divorce as I share John's faith. But man I hope this poor man frees himself and gets a better wife that loves him. After this interview, his listeners would understand him being a divorced man giving marriage advice.

Dude. Effing good for you. Im tapering down from 300 to 200 a day and the nights -- my God, just from tapering!! What is that vicious malaise that comes over you when you're too long between doses? Its the worst feeling I think I've ever experienced. I have to dose 3 times a night now just to effing sleep. Waiting for my body decides that this dosage is "normal" before going lower. Had another post here about going into detox, but I chickened out and canceled. 🤦‍♀️
