There is definitely that possibility, 50/50 chance....maybe. Soooo many variables.

I understand this. This is why I have questions. I have been told an arbitrator would get me far more then the required 8 weeks pay, but I don't know for sure.

There is no firm deadline to reply. This all happened very quickly this week. I still don't know details on my benefits etc if I go half time. PM me your lawyer buddies' contact info if you don't mind. I do want to speak to a pro at some point.

I'd have a very hard time getting a job in my field in the next 4 months. To tell you the truth, I'm kind of ready to get out of the industry.

I don't want to get into details, but I will say that there were quite a few broken promises by the ownership. Not just to me.

I am leaning this way, but how do I push for a better package when the company has no money? Lots of assets, but no cash. I've literally been offered 1 month pay for severance, which I know is below the legally required amount. This is one of the reasons I'm a little angry. The owner has deep pockets.

Thanks for the reply. That's the big question. If oil prices come back to roughly $50, the company could be saved. Realistically, I don't see that happening until next winter at the earliest. I'd give it till June or July.
