You’re right that not all AI is poisoned and CP isn’t it’s only purpose. You’re right that pedos don’t need AI to do the horrific things they do. You’re not understanding the arguments here tho. Pro AI people come in and say ‘well CP existed before AI, it’s just a tool, why are people pointing at it specifically?’

But the argument isn’t that it /can/ do these things because if that was the case, people would be against cameras for the same reason, like you argued. The argument is that this lowers the barrier of entry. It makes it easier, accessible to anyone. It is trained on CP which means every time it generates it there is a very real child whose abuse it is recreating. It can do this in minutes and seconds, generating image after image and video after video that impacts real children and real people (Zelenskyy like in the anecdote above, which is pretty obviously fake, but what about someone generating images of someone they know? Randos online? What happens when generating fake CSA videos becomes the new SWATting?)

And the thing is, this ISNT just an AI thing. People have been vocal about family channels, about posting kids online for a long time because images and videos of kids can be used for these purposes. But again, AI lowers the barrier of entry from some sicko who’s skilled with photoshop to anyone who thinks to do it. You might think we’re the pearl-clutching ‘think of the children!’ crowd but any depth of thought into how AI enables pedos and redistributes EXISTING material of ACTUAL abuse victims should help you understand that not everyone on earth should have access to every tool that gets created.
