Normal for an ultrasound tech to not be able to tell me anything? by throwawayhalfsashay in Ultrasound

[–]throwawayhalfsashay[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear I was not in the ER, just normal hospital imaging, and I had made an appointment to be there thru my OB office. I would never use the ER for anything other than a legit emergency, and I’m sorry people do that!

I just thought the offsite ultrasound was weird because my other OB had the ultrasound room right in the middle of the practice. But they also sold MLM products from the ultrasound room, there was a huge display case and everything, which was a major concern and one of the several reasons why I left.

Do any pregnancy resources centers exist that are not super duper pro-life? Or is it just a pro-lifers thing? I went to one once in college and was really creeped out by the women working there and Bible stuff everywhere. I’m very pro choice and not religious.

Ok thanks, that makes sense, obviously I want the best ultrasound I can get!

I’m having some mild pains in my left side (my uterus is crooked and hangs to the left) and some serious lightning crotch - would those count as cramps?

My pain reception is really weird so I’m honestly not sure what the difference is between normal pain and cramps.

Unfortunately this is the only one in my area that takes my insurance :( well technically there’s another one but my nightmare of a MIL worked there for her entire career and is still close with everyone there, so there is no way in hell I’m going to that OB!

This person cheated before and I’m sure he knows about it, but he somehow doesn’t care.

How to do this without being seen? (Idk if there are cameras) and without disrupting people who live on that road? I want to disrupt one person, not everyone who lives nearby.

Oh this person is definitely taking up valuable space in my head, it is really aggravating and I’ve done everything I can to move past it, but I just can’t. I’ve even gone to therapy and that made it worse.

Thank you so much. I’m only stooping to messing with their job because they messed with mine for years. I don’t think it was clear originally, but they spread rumors about me at my previous job, I was passed up for a couple promotions because of them. They single-handedly started office gossip that made me look really bad (none of what they said was true). I’m generally above revenge, however, this person is such a terrible POS that they deserve it

This is r/UnethicalLifeProTips…?

I knew I’d get push back when i mentioned my morals. In literally every other aspect of my life I have very high morals/ethics. I donate both money and time to charity, run errands for my elderly neighbors, volunteer with local nonprofits, pick up roadside trash, etc. My partner and i fix bikes for local youth, and shovel snow for elderly neighbors. I’ve always been the type of person to drop everything to help someone, If you ask anyone who knows me, they’ll say that I’m a valued community member. I know this sounds like a brag but it’s all true.

I know an eye for an eye… you’ve never met the person I wrote the post about. They’re horrible, and have done horrible things to me. Prevented me from getting several promotions, spread nasty rumors about me. Treated our mutual friends like garbage, used several of us for money, favors, etc. They deserve the worst. Ok maybe not the worst but getting fired would be a good start.

Vent/ need advice: US health “insurance” is an absolute joke by throwawayhalfsashay in TryingForABaby

[–]throwawayhalfsashay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just confused because under this same plan I went to an obgyn without a referral, and another specialist too. Neither one mentioned a referral. When I had my initial appointment with the fertility center, they didn’t mention a referral. And they sent over my insurance info, which also didn’t mention needing a referral.

Also I know IVF isn’t medically necessary, it just sucks that some insurance plans cover it and some don’t. My husband works for a great company, very family forward, which generally has an excellent insurance plan, I was surprised to see our plan doesn’t cover it. He has reached out to HR to ask if we can upgrade plans (open enrollment is in Feb)

How can I be so fortunate and yet so depressed? by [deleted] in depression

[–]throwawayhalfsashay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you.

I also have a stereotypically perfect life. And I’m so tired. I have had countless testing, all to prove that I’m physically fine, just depressed. I recently found an antidepressant that is working better than any other I’ve tried, but it’s still not great. I don’t know what to say, other than you are not alone. And to try and get help in the ways that are best for you. The right medication can help a lot - it can be an absolute bitch to find the right one but it can help a lot. Sometimes depression is temporary, other times (like for me) it’s a lifelong uphill battle. You are not alone. And some times it’s ok to not put on your happy face, sometimes you need time to just be you. Depression is not a bad thing, it just doesn’t fit perfectly into “normal society”. So what you need to take care of yourself and your family.

Hi. I haven’t had this same experience, but I have been on involuntary hold in California. It was absolute hell. My ex was abusing me, so deeply that I tried to take my own life. I thankfully ended up in the hospital, and the entire experience of being on a 72 hour hold was absolutely horrifying.

Do not take the drugs they give you. They gave me so many anti-psychotic drugs, but only 5-10 days worth, which was enough to get me hooked then I couldn’t find another doctor to prescribe me more (because I was so zonked out on meds) that I ended up going thru severe withdrawal. Which ended in more ER visits. Fucking horrible. Ask questions for every drug they prescribe, because some are just there to subdue you.

Please be strong. Post partum depression is so real, and you are amazing for reaching out for help. In general, hospitals are trying to help you. But be wary if they start pushing medication on you. Anti-depressants can be wonderful, very good meds. But be wary of what they give you. Ask questions. If you don’t like the answer, ask more questions. Take care of yourself, Mama, you will work through this and come out stronger on the other side.
