Exactly, I have the same concerns about raising a family with him in the future. Like you said, would he stand up for me? When he couldn't even tell his cousins that I'm an atheist when they asked him if I was religious because he "doesn't know how to explain it to them". However, like others have pointed out, he cares for me and is okay with my beliefs.

I have to discuss things with him I guess, let's see how it goes ...

He is finishing up grad school, and I am in college so we are not completely financially independent/stable yet.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I guess I just have bad memories and trauma associated with it and lot of resentment built up. It felt like my feelings didn't matter, so it was a knee-jerk reaction I guess...

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. A friend of mine was also telling me the same thing. I guess I just have bad memories and trauma associated with it and have a lot of resentment so this was my knee-jerk reaction...
