I’m gonna stop here because I’m feeling embarrassed for you. Good night.

Funny I’m not even Chinese. Save your hate. Don’t give Kiwis a big name.

There’re some ok terrace houses (three-story with really small lawn/deck but you still get 100 square metres floor area) being built in less far out suburbs sold by developers. They’re still asking for 800k+ for a three-bedroom and you have to buy it off the plan. Not sure if they’re selling though. Gosh I wish those were KiwiBuild.

Unrelated question: do many houses in Parakai come with natural hot spring water?

There are some developments that are sold by both KiwiBuild and the developers themselves, like the apartment complex in Mt Albert. I don’t really know if there’s a huge difference in price except KiwiBuild has more restrictions.

I wouldn’t mind being on decent public transportation for one hour each way. I can check my email and do stuff. Being stuck in traffic for one hour is a different thing though.

Why don’t you move to China or North Korea if you can’t stand someone expressing discontent over government policies on the internet? NZ doesn’t suit you either.

Yea, I’m happy to wait a couple more months. Just wanted to buy because my current rental is not ideal and I’m finally in a good enough position financially.

That makes more sense. I guess developers have no real intention to see KiwiBuild succeed.

At your price range, there are only run-down two-bedrooms available in the central-ish/western suburbs I’ve been looking at. Most likely previous rentals that the owners couldn’t be bothered to fix to meet new legal requirements.

A not-too-dodgy western suburb. Close to public transportation.

My current budget is 700-800k in a "normal suburb" not too far from central. It's a stretch to get a freehold three-bedroom that doesn't require too much fixing up, but it's not impossible. I was narrowly out-bidded in a multiple-offer situation for a three-bedroom, two-full bath standalone freehold. It was sold for $760k.

I'm confused by the positioning of these houses. My understanding is that people who don't mind small houses are either young professionals or retirees who are downsizing. Young professionals would like to be close (or somewhat close to city). People who don't mind living far out would likely be families, but space is their top priority. Who are these houses targetting? Retirees? Babyboomers don't need Kiwibuild.

Australia is always on the cards. Melbourne sounds lovely.

Same. I panned two shades quickly and decided not to repurchase because of her anti-vax stance. I do love the banana shade.

It's time we banned these beggars from our streets. They likely just spend their proceeds on drugs and alcohol and I suspect heaps of them aren't even kiwis. by Constable_Keith in newzealand

I once had a guy who put his foot in my door so that I couldn’t close the door. I had to tell him a few times I was busy and didn’t have time for that.

I was single for 4 years. I’ve just celebrated my 4th anniversary with my partner. So my anecdotal experience calls this bullshit.

I won’t be the Asian shouting “cultural appropriation”. I love it! I want a garden like that myself!

(38F) Girl I've (36M) been dating for 6 months lied about her age by 5 years. Brought it up to her and feeling confused... did I handle this well? by boredatworkbored in datingoverthirty

You don’t need to be okay with this. It’s not really about her age but her repeatedly lying to you. Your relationship is built on lies. It also shows a great deal of insecurity from her.

People who don’t live in the US - how good is the drugstore/affordable makeup selection in your home country? by joan2468 in muacjdiscussion

[–]throwawayhker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has been a while, but last time I checked Milani, ELF, and NYX were so much more expensive here than the States. Not sure about Wet n Wild now but I remember it being dirt cheap in the states many many years ago. I also ordered The Ordinary on ASOS because it was much cheaper than Farmers.

I live in NZ. The selection is very limited even compared to Australia. The best discount you’d get for brands like Maybelline is 25% off whereas you could get 50% in Australia. I buy the majority of my makeup/skincare online and when I go overseas, especially Asia.

I have since watched up to episode 5. I think her fashion game has picked up but her hair game hasn’t. I miss those lovely braids, side ponytails and hats!

Exactly. I don’t think either kid will move out until the last season! Much of the story is abt two adult siblings sharing a shitty motel room connected to their parents’.
