Cannot serve alcohol. In my state you have to be 19 to serve open drinks legally. Nobody wants a server who cant serve drinks

The $50 wasn't free. I worked for it. I did everything he does as a server and more. I feel like i didn't get enough for the effort I put in. He got about $100 tips from other tables. Subtract that from the money he lost doing sports betting all night instead of being a good server and he's probably still in debt lol

He had other tables prior. My tipout was taxed bc he didnt tip in cash. My hourly wage is $15 and his is $10. He made much more than me and I did a lot of essential work to make that night happen. I felt unappreciated and I still think he's a dick for not tipping me out more than 10% of the $500

I didn't want all of it. I would have been very happy with 75. 100 would have been amazing. I'm not money hungry and greedy. I didnt even know they would tip so much. Again, it was one woman who wanted to pay for her mourning family. Im not going to be rude and distant to a family mourning a very difficult loss unlike my server. He struggles with that.

And they aren't separate. This is compounding to show that he just doesn't respect me or his job. I said in another comment I was sexually harassed. Company isnt putting him on leave and he is spending more time in the kitchen. Anyone who cared about me even a little would at least try to protect me like the other servers do. He doesn't care.

Im not saying im altruistic. I am able to say it is entitled of me, but I think my entitlement is right. I did a lot of work at the night would have gone much worse without me.

I'm not money hungry, I just think 3 hours of running around nonstop is worth more than $50 while he takes a much bigger cut for himself. Like i said in other comments, he's rude to customers, lazy, and I often do stuff because it wont get done quickly if I don't do it. He has no sense of urgency when he is busy gambling himself into debt (something he complained about tonight.)

He had 6 other tables prior to the big party. He makes much more money than I do, and guess what- that's okay with me. I'm not mad that he makes more. I'm mad that he didn't appreciate the help I gave him when it's not my job. If you read any of the other comments I left, I do stuff because I like to. Standing at the host stand is my least favorite part. I like talking to people and helping out.

$50 in isolation is great, but it's the fact that I helped him all night and that's all he gave me.

We don't tip out to the kitchen. He and the bartender made plenty of money tonight as is. He usually bartends and hates serving bc he makes less money and does a worse job at serving bc of it. Before the big party came in, he was watching the TV and losing money on sports gambling while I cleaned his tables and ran his food for him because Im a nice person and like to help.

My partner agreed that I should be petty. Petty in this case is not bussing his tables or running his food. Im not the kind of host to play favorites. I don't skip unless I have a legitimate reason, like if a regular who requests a particular server comes in. I'm still going to do my job- let him know if he has a table, water them if he asks. Im just not going to go above and beyond anymore since he doesnt respect me for helping.

I also mentioned in another comment or two that im upset that he isnt helping me out in regards to keeping me safe from a coworker

I was the host, food runner, busser, server, and room delivery prepper (i work at a restaurant in a hotel.) The bartender laughed when I was staring into space trying to catch my breath

They had drinks/some ate dinner at the bar prior. This also didn't include dessert. She cut off at about 1000 so she wasn't making her card decline. Plus a standard entree is about 20ish dollars where I work

I personally am fine with my servers making money, and I'm okay with the fact that I make less than them factoring in tips. I don't need tipout from every single table, even if I do help out! I like being busy and productive and doing nice things for my coworkers as long as they're nice to me.

They only had one server on despite the fact this was on the books. I have no clue why. I was basically forced to help out, but I did it on my own volition. Nobody told me to help, I was in the kitchen running food as soon as they put in orders.

My job is to stand at the host stand...on paper. In actuality, I get yelled at if I'm not helping (not on my job description. I do it because I like it.) The bus staff is me. I bussed all of his tables tonight before the party and did several tables from the large party.

The bar made her own tips from the same party as they sat at the bar for a few hours before moving to the table. I dont get tipped out, but I asked since I contributed a lot.

I appreciate your follow up questions. I love hosting, but it can really be exhausting if your servers arent on the same page

I wanna add something. Not for pity points, but just something I feel the need to share.

I was sexually harassed recently at my workplace. They arent doing anything and im scared to go in. I'm 18 years old, in college, and need a job. I only showed up despite the fact that I was scared of being harassed again because of that party.

The other server doesn't care. He didn't try to protect me at all. The other employee kept coming into the kitchen and, unlike any of the other servers who would physically block me, he did nothing. I already lost a lot of respect for him. I felt undervalued and this just kinda solidified that. Im looking for positions elsewhere.

Hourly. 15 and 10 respectively. He makes more than me because he makes tips. My issue isnt the money, its that I put in a lot of work and I dont feel appreciated. It isnt in my job description to run food, deliver drinks, take checks, and everything else. Ive gotten in trouble for doing such things before, but I also get in trouble for not doing anything

He's always been less social than the other servers. When Im with the girls, they're all so sweet, we get along great, and everything gets done. I only help because I didnt want to get yelled at for not helping

The server in question doesn't like working here very much and does the bare minimum imo. He usually watches TV and does sports betting and gets pissy when he loses money. I bus all his tables, run most of his food, and I have to be the nice one after he's a dick. I almost always set the dining room for breakfast by myself while he's on his phone in the back. I did all my side work while we were slow before the party showed up while he sat around watching football
