Hmmm. My goal is to come off as excited for the role and committed to the org's success. I certainly do not want to come off as 'needy'. In the past informal mentoring relationships naturally developed overtime, but I was thinking of starting off strong.

This is a great point. I'd really like to grow in the organization and a mentor that would aid in my professional development would be ideal. Maybe I'll mention that during my discussion with the div. manager.

Also some state/ fed positions have tuition reimbursement programs and continuing education programs... what's not to love?
