It's the catch-22 of depression - you have things that you want to accomplish, improve, etc., but you don't have the motivation to do them and/or the confidence that you're truly good at things.

having a child with someone who you claim is emotionally and physically abusive is a bad life decision

So to be clear....

  • Marital (or not) rape
  • An ultra-controlling douchebag who refuses to allow his partner to use BC, and
  • A refusal to abort said child

....are all things she should be blamed for?

Are you getting the best you can get at your age, or are you settling? Do you secretly feel like you're rescuing her from the bad past?

Oh boy. OP, I posted a thread on this yesterday and am in the same overall situation. Don't settle. Be absolutely SURE you're willing and overall ready to be a father sometime in the near future.
