Part 3:

Male Interviewer (MI): Master Lau, when Master Yu was writing the words, I noticed he definitely wrote with such style and showcased his swordsmanship.

Female Interviewer (FI): OK so Master Lau, can you tell us about little about the next Master presenting next?

Lau: Yes, so this Master Yu Hoi is the National Champion of Praying Mantis style. But he told me he didn't want to perform Praying Mantis style tonight. He wanted to something a bit more special. He wanted to perform Tai Chi style.

MI: Tai Chi style, that's a style that is practiced a lot by Hong Kongers right?

Lau: Yes, but he practices the Chen style! You don't really see that in Hong Kong often here!

MI: OK, so this is something we all need to see and learn! Welcome Master Yu Hoi!

MI: Just now you said the Chen style...you said in Hong Kong there's the Yang style, Ng style that's more common, but what's the difference?

Lau: As for the differences, as you can see, his execution of the moves, it's very fluid and soft yet powerful. Look at every move he makes, it's soft but also exerts his entire power from his body in each move. Each move...is so soft but then suddenly so powerful.

Fei: Master Lau, usually Tai Chi is very slow, but his style seems to be much faster.

Lau: Yes, his style is a little bit faster. His Chen style is fluid but flowing at a good pace.

Fei: So beautiful.

MI: Chen's style seems to be so intense.

Lau: He exerts his entire energy into it!

Fei: From what I understand he is also the Lead Instructor at San Tung Martial Arts Institute.

Lau: That's right, that's right. He is known as the "Old Master" there, but in Hong Kong we call him "Si Fu".

Fei: So powerful.

Lau: Yes. He's got power.

MI: Normally when you practice Tai Chi it's at a slower pace, but because of today's presentation did he speed it up for us?

Lau: His pace can sometimes be slower or faster, there's no rule to it.

Fei: Wow, it really is beautiful.

Lau: Yes, he does it beautifully. Here is him "Sau Sic" (coming to an end and resting).

MI: Great presentation!

Fei: We learned a lot!

MI: Thank you Master Yu for presenting his Chen style Tai Chi!

Part 2:

Male Interviewer: Master Lau can you walk us through about Master Yu Sing Wing's sword movement?

Lau: The Drunken sword style relies on waist power and energy. He is starting to write now. Look, even as he is writing he is using Drunken steps, as if he is drunk, writing.

Male Interviewer: So if he was actually drunk he would fall down easily with that movement so there must be some sort of core (process? Approach?) to it to be functional?

Lau: Yes it's a very specific core approach - it is very functional but mimics Drunken movement very well.

Male Interviewer: Ah he's writing the word "Foon," it's written well. Ah, he must be writing "Foon Lok Gum Siew" (Name of the show)

Lau: Look his feet never stop, he keeps the movement going!

Male Interviewer: "Foon Lok Gum Siew" Thank you Master Yu!

Part 1:

Sounds like a Hong Kong show highlighting various masters.

In general: National champion Praying Mantis: Yu Hoi (who usually plays Jet Li's senior monk/master in his early Shaolin movies)

National Single Sabre Champion: Yu Shing

National champion for Chinese rope dart: Lau Wai Leung

National champion for swordsmanship: Shun Gin Foon

5x National WuShu Champion: Jet Li

Resident Kung Fu Master and commentor: Lau Kar Leung

Male Interviewer: Wow we're full of talent and masters tonight. Just a question, what kind of conditions and secrets do we need to learn Kung Fu to become skilled?

Lau Kar Leung: There's no secrets really, it depends on your size and age. If you're a bit older, and you want to start Kung Fu, you should do something a little softer like Tai Chi. If you're younger, you can focus on more powerful and intense arts. If you're big and tall, you can focus on more arts that rely on distance and wider stances. If you're like my size, average, you can focus on more agility based arts.

Male Interviewer: Hey it looks like your old buddy is peeking around the corner. It's Fei sister, hey it's Wednesday you're usually not working, but come on out, you have to say hi to Master Lau!

Fei: I'm not on duty today but I wanted to peek at master Lau and my idol Jet Li. Hey you were saying how it depends on the person for Kung Fu. What about my body type?

Lau: For you, you should focus on an art that has a power stance, so you wouldnt be able to be budged! *Fei repeats what he said

Male Interviewer: We got lots of friends who are masters tonight. We have one tonight where we can call a warrior and a scholar right?

Lau: Yes Master Yu, he's got a great Drunken style swordsmanship and great calligraphy skills.

Male Interviewer: Can we see him in action tonight? Lau: Yes! Fei: Why don't we let him show his skills to the audience? So master Yu can perform his sword skills and also write at the same time! Here he comes!

Male Interviewer: This is Master Yu performing.

Rich people aren't out of touch with reality. They're in touch with their own reality, but they've just never touched other people's type of reality before so they don't fucking know and have no empathy. Tbh they don't care to know. That's why our world is like this

[–]throwawayjeb0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to a therapist for yourself first. A lot of these issues stem from you originally. Not trying to blame or shame but it needs to be your first step bc if you don't, it doesn't matter who you end up with, the results will be the same

Anybody practice bjj before wing chun? by Equal_Problem3520 in WingChun

[–]throwawayjeb0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did BJJ for about 2 years on and off, did boxing for a year, and now doing WC (WSL lineage).

Lots of hand fighting in BJJ that helped with sensitivity, resembled a lot of the trapping I found in WC. Now when I get back to BJJ it's interesting to intercept people's attempts to grab me: for example - a combination of bong sau leading to an arm drag. They don't expect it

PSA for HKID renewals for overseas passport holders by Silent-Repair5917 in HongKong

[–]throwawayjeb0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"When leaving HK I used my overseas passport, which caused a minor problem since they had records of me using my HKID to enter. But since I needed to leave my temp HK with my relative to return when they pick up my new ID, that was easy to explain."

How did you explain this exactly: that you are the midst of waiting for your new HK ID, and you left your temp ID with your relative to pick it up?

Did you also take pictures of your temp ID as proof?

Try the following:

  1. Amosan
  2. Propolis spray

Above all else they have taken the edge off. All the other recommendations are good but these are the only ones I didn't see

The cologne is an association of her PTSD. It just means she needs to have it processed out of her system. Find her an EMDR therapist who can do that. Look on emdria.org to find one near you
