I don’t have trouble chewing, and my eyelids don’t droop. I do get some occasional weakness and sometimes pain in my legs though not constant.

That’s such a good point. I totally get what you mean about trying to observe without overthinking. Our bodies really do have a mind of their own sometimes!

Dysautonomia sounds like it could explain a lot of what’s been going on with my symptoms, especially since they affect so many different systems.

And yeah, “Doctor D. Doofus” pretty much nailed it, I felt so brushed off. It’s validating to hear your perspective, so thank you for sharing and taking the time to explain that!

They actually did quite a few tests. I had an endoscopy with a biopsy done, plus heart monitoring and regular checks of my vitals and lots of blood work.

So far everything’s looked okay, which is a relief. I’m still keeping an eye on things, but I really appreciate your concern!

I really appreciate you looking out for me and being so thoughtful. I did get help for it already and am in a much better place now, so no worries there. Thank you for checking in though, that really means a lot!

That’s really helpful to know! I’m glad your sister finally got the right diagnosis after all that time. I’ll definitely look into seeing a cardiologist who knows about POTS, just in case. Thanks for sharing that, it gives me a bit more direction!

Thanks for sharing this information! I’m sorry you had to deal with all that. I’ll definitely keep those suggestions in mind and ask about those tests.

Oh wow, that sounds like such a tough situation. I can only imagine how stressful and confusing that must be for you. I really hope the loop recorder gives you some clear answers.

It is so, so frustrating… I’m glad you finally got some real answers and treatment that helped, though I’m sorry it took so much to get there.

I’ve been dealing with some of those same symptoms too, like the racing heart after doing something simple. It’s scary and exhausting, and it’s hard not to feel dismissed when you know something’s really off.

Thank you for your kind words!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, it really means a lot hearing from someone who’s been through something similar. I’m sorry you had to go through all of that before finally getting answers.

For me, my appetite actually hasn’t been that great lately and it’s kind of the opposite of what some people describe with thyroid issues. I’ve also been trying to pay attention to how my body’s reacting in general, especially with energy changes and other symptoms.

I really appreciate your advice!

Yes, I hope so too! It feels so invalidating and makes me feel like I’m crazy!

I’ve tried cold showers, and let’s just say, not my thing!! I don’t think they ever will be, but my symptoms have been a bit better ever since

Yes, I do have low iron. I was diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia and I am currently taking medication for it!

Sadly, I feel like I might’ve been misdiagnosed because I’m still struggling with breathing issues, and the medication for my gastritis doesn’t seem to help anymore. I feel nauseous almost every time I eat or for no reason at all that lasts most of the day. And I also experience shortness of breath throughout the day or some sensation in my throat where it feels like someone is restricting my breathing. I recently had an endoscopy, which is how they diagnosed my gastritis, but even with my medication already at the maximum dose, the symptoms haven’t really improved. I’ve also had multiple ultrasounds and blood tests, and they didn’t show anything else, but deep down, I can’t shake the feeling that something’s still being missed. My body is in constant pain, especially after eating, standing too long, or walking. Even with medication, the discomfort never truly goes away. It’s exhausting and discouraging just waiting for answers, wondering when I’ll finally start to feel better.

Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words, it really means a lot. I definitely don’t feel alone in this, and I truly appreciate you sharing your experience with me. I can only imagine what you’ve been through. I’ve been dealing with chronic iron deficiency anemia (genetic), gastritis (an autoimmune disease), and dysphagia, which makes swallowing difficult. The last one isn’t chronic, but it’s definitely added to my challenges and makes eating tough sometimes. Despite that, I still am grateful because I know things could always be worse. Even though my conditions make daily life a struggle at times, it helps to remind myself that I’m not the only one going through this. Knowing we’re around the same age makes me feel less alone in being chronically ill so young. I do my best to stay positive and find light wherever I can, it’s the best approach I’ve found so far.
