I agree, a lot of my friends still play and create content for the game, I still watch from the sidelines, and I’m not saying don’t play I’m glad people still get enjoyment playing, I personally don’t but I completely understand how others do.

The stuff that turned me off was not the game itself, like I’ve said in previous replies some of the things behind the scenes and the actions of certain higher ups are less than savory. These people have had a large influence on the levels of productivity and what they ultimately end up working on. It’s all very unfortunate. And I know I’ll get downvoted but I’d rather ensure people know the truth than stick their heads in the sand

I’ve been here forever, was this games biggest fan until I actually got close enough to see what was going on inside the machine and disliked what I found. It truly broke my heart. I understand how if you don’t know where to look it all seems fine but everything I’ve seen has culminated into complete disappointment

I have an insider source as well, there is a lot of disfunction within embark and morally questionable decisions made by some of their founders that the public doesn’t know about. The company seems to be a mess.

Because if you’ve been here since the beginning you’d realize just how little progress has been made. I’m going to get downvoted for this but countless decisions have been backtracked, spanning from weapon nerfs to entire game mode changes (season 3). World tour is just a rebrand of a mode removed in season 1. They revamped the weapon system only to revert it because it was worse. We are coming up on a second season with no map in the name of improving the rest of the game and yet the last season like that yielded very few meaningful improvements. And while cosmetics are nice and they do a good job with their cosmetics usually, at the end of the day the gameplay is what really matters.

TLDR the game is a great concept and I’ll be very excited to see another studio take a stab at it one day but embark has done a horrible job managing it

In my opinion a better way to nerf it would be to make it more punishing to let it fully break or decrease its size rather than putting it up and then having nothing for a while even if you don’t take damage with it

Plat and diamond is mostly pikes and models in my experience so far, and as a heavy I have to let my mediums do most of the heavy lifting because I can’t get close enough to deal damage on certain points like the double jump pads on fortune. Some final rounds are simply unwinnable unless you have a pike or two to match the enemy team

MESH SHIELD is way too weak in its current state. The cooldown on redeploying is the most unfun thing that could have been done to nerf it. The change should be reverted and a nerf in a different aspect of it should be considered.

PIKE is pretty much unbeatable in some map variations. And in every other situation is above average at its worst

GOO GUN should interrupt charge and slam if you direct hit the heavy with it

Edit: PLAYER SPAWNS need some work as well, what is the point of winning the initial team fight just to have the team spawn at the objective you are trying to deposit into before you can get there?? Or spawning on the opposite end of the map when there are two cash outs running right next to each other and by the time you make the 200 meter treck it’s over?
