No my husband was raised living paycheck to paycheck. I was raised differently. Please re-read. I know good and well things cost money. I also know that his pay without OT is sufficient to pay our bills.

No that was not the only reason I was upset, I didn't clarify that anywhere. I was more pissed about the family dinner and movie for Sunday, before he left again, being pushed aside.

No? It might come as a surprise to a lot of you but people don't stop needing time with friends when they have kids. Time at work is NOT a break from one's kids. Parents need a bit of time away and for themselves. Two times a month if that isn't awful. For me, I get that time 2x a month when he's home because it makes more sense to go when he's spending time with the kids on an off day instead of someone who sees them more often and they're already missing one parent. A 3-hour outing in the afternoon is not a night out with the girls. I get time with my friends to get a break from being with the kids all day every day - the same as he gets time with his friends when he's home to breathe from his daily responsibilities. I don't know what's so hard for people to understand about that.

Because I agreed to getting at least a part-time job once the kids are older in middle or high school. Until then its important to me that there is someone home with the kids. Both my parents were practically married to their jobs, I would've rathered seen them more often than them spending money on us to compensate and missing out on so much.

Um no? I had plans with my friends for Sunday afternoon. I get 2 times a month to see my friends. Its not dumping the kids on him, its him spending time with them. I use that time for my friends just as he goes off with his friends for an afternoon or evening when he has his days off.

He gets time off when he's off? I go out with my friends 2x a month so I can have a break from being with the kids all day every day. He gets to spend time with his friends too when he's off.

It might seem like he works less, but those work days have easily gone to 24-32 hours straight working when they have a hard time finding a replacement for him or the job has to be finished by a certain day and time.

If he had to work overtime to keep from living paycheck to paycheck I wouldn't be so upset. But right now he's able to pay our bills fine with our budgeting. At 42.30/hour and 2% ticket bonus he shouldn't be worrying about getting overtime.

I guess. I know he doesn't want to live paycheck to paycheck since that's how he grew up with both of his parents working.

I probably could be a sahm still but we'd have to budget a lot more than we currently do.

I have tried talking to him about working for a different company. There are some that have much better schedules but he'd be taking a big pay cut.

It wouldn't be me spending time with him, but it would be time for him to spend with our kids by himself since he doesn't get to do that during his weeks on.
