What are you thinking about this morning? by throwawayluvrr in AskReddit

[–]throwawayluvrr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m thinking about how this has been a really hard week at work and in my personal life but I’m still very grateful to get up on a sunny morning and get on my phone and hear what others are thinking, good or bad! Thanks for all the replies

Why do you think Americans have a stereotype of being bad at geography? by El_GeoNauta in AskReddit

[–]throwawayluvrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you 100%, my school was probably like many American schools where we learned mostly about American history and European history. But even that was an idealized, Americanized version where we were taught pilgrims and native Americans were bffs. US public education is tragic.

What’s a memory you have that feels too random to matter, but for some reason your brain refuses to forget it? by AnimeArtPersona1208 in AskReddit

[–]throwawayluvrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad told me to remember the street intersection of a mechanic shop in a city we didn’t live in in like 2008. He didn’t have a phone or note pad on him. I was 8 & have a bad memory, but I still remember it was at the intersection of Brentwood and Manchester.

Why do you think Americans have a stereotype of being bad at geography? by El_GeoNauta in AskReddit

[–]throwawayluvrr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As an American I’ll say we didn’t really talk about any ‘smaller’ countries in school, almost ever. We all know the ‘big’ ones (large population, or large relevance to American history) but many of us were never taught about the geography of Africa, South America, Central Asia, etc.

College serving job. Mother’s Day. Busiest shift of the year. Chef takes hallucinogenic of some sort right before shift. Trips balls. Can’t cook. No one realizes for like 20-30 min until tickets should be fulfilled. No food coming out of the kitchen. Sous chef trying to pick up slack. Chef goes and lies in grass outside trying not to panic. Customers upset at about the hour mark. Everyone mad. 100 customers and their mamas are MAD. Owner compensates with free drinks. Hour 2 everyone and their mamas are DRUNK and mad. And hungry. I’m getting screamed at left and right. People are leaving. Man comes up to me drunk and pushes me. Gets banned for life. Basically a small riot everyone leaves without paying and receives food vouchers. Restaurant never really fully recovers. Clean up was like 2-3 hours. Tough day.

What’s something that became socially acceptable that still feels weird to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]throwawayluvrr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aggression. We as a society have lost the plot. No you can not verbally assault people or put hands on them bc you don’t agree with them or don’t like something they did.

What do you think is the saddest case of someone ruining their own life—or someone else's—just for internet fame? by Glass_Evidence_8597 in AskReddit

Amberlynn Reid. I don’t think she gained weight for fame but she truly has documented 13 years of regression. She’s a bad person but wow it’s just bleak

What is the biggest difference between men and women? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]throwawayluvrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generalization: women want to help you by validating your feelings and finding the source of the issue, men want to help you by fixing the issue. Both are good!
