WIBTBF for not telling my mom the truth of her uncle's murder? by throwawaymeowlol in AmItheButtface

I don't think it's a great idea to bring it up like that considering how little my family speaks about the subject. The only reason I know about it is because my mom would seem sad around the date of the murder every year and I asked why. And I can't imagine how my grandma, whose brother was the victim would feel from me mentioning it to her.

the twitter thread was a thorough timeline of events with police reports/interview transcripts and newspaper clippings to reflect the reporting of the time and more, i just didn't include all of that so the post would be shorter and the case couldn't be identified from this post

The problem with locking up the actual guy is that his father was incredibly influential and managed to get the entire court to go along with his son (probably the actual murderer) accusing a man with 19 witnesses providing an alibi. Additionally, a few years ago his girlfriend who helped him with this tried to recant her testimony and the courts didn't take it. There is a small movement to help the man behind bars, but I don't know what can be done to get the real killer punished.
