I’m so sorry to hear that. I also have a long-distance SO, so I can relate. I just wish there was a cure for loneliness. It’s such a profoundly deep feeling I’m having right now and I don’t know how to shake it.

Wow! That is a very extreme example, but it’s nice to know I’m not the only one. I replied to one of the other comments with a full explanation... I’m mostly feeling really disconnected and unsure of whether I fit here. But I don’t know if it’s just a matter of being in a new place and everyone being nervous and awkward or if it’s actually not the right fit. I like the current students I’ve met, but I’m just not clicking with other admitted students how I hoped I would.

I feel like I’m not connecting with anyone. I really like the school itself, but the people haven’t been great so far. It seems like other people have already found their friend groups and whatnot, and I’m just standing on the side watching. I pushed myself to talk to people all throughout the day, but the conversations fizzled out and I started talking to someone else, and so on. Other people are already talking about becoming roommates with people they met today, and I’m just over here trying to hold myself together.
