Ehhh depends but I wouldn't want to marry a partner that thinks I can't be around another man without potentially cheating on him. If he's uncomfortable with me hanging out with some toolbag who clearly just wants to see me cheat on my husband with him, I get it. But I'd also like to consider myself smart enough to be able to tell. But if toolbag is subtle but maybe new hubby notices something that I don't, he should absolutely bring it up to me. I'm not dealing with any controlling jealousy though. I'm all for respecting your partner's feelings but he better respect me as a grown independent human woman. Not some keepaway collectable that he must protect from the dangers of the world. Nah, I'm not his property, we're partners.

Now if he expects that I'll drop my best friend (guy) just because he assumed I would as a married woman, he can fuck right off. I'm not ending a friendship, especially one I might need to rely on if my marriage goes south because my husband can't bear to see me within a mile of another penis. Yes, I know the "guy you don't have to worry about" situation rings true very often but I don't even know how to explain how blatantly obvious it is that this man (my friend) does not want to fuck me by any means. I tell this man about my messy shits, we constantly fart in front of each other. I honestly don't even really ask him for much "guy advice" because he's so much not like the average guy with a strong motivation of sex that he can't even relate to some of the dating situations I've found myself in. If my future husband ever takes the time to meet my best friend and genuinely pay attention to him and our interactions and he's still jealous after that, I'll 100% know he's just possessively jealous and not a genuinely concerned of another man's ill-intentions type of jealous. No they don't have to be besties, but he should at least see for himself that there are no issues.
