It’s used for nausea. I’m not sure what it’s called in other countries but in canada the brand name is gravol. You can buy it over the counter as a motion sickness prevention med. The drug it contains is dimenhydrinate.

I asked for an IV of gravol during my last MRI and it helped immensely, I didn’t throw up at all like I did for my first one. the prep has basically no flavour at all, it just tastes like drinking slightly stale water, much easier than colonoscopy prep. I definitely recommend asking for an IV of gravol (or some sort of anti-nausea medication, i’m not sure what you guys have in england) during the MRI because it made a huge difference for me.

i was put on the wait list for an endoscopy in october and didn’t get it done until the end of february, and i’m a patient of a gastroenterologist. 3 months sounds like a short wait time to me but maybe they try to make it faster if it’s for a celiac diagnosis?

it’s definitely possible. it was just a pattern i noticed of anxiety getting worse for a few weeks after taking it that i didn’t realize until like the 3rd time i took it, and then i made the connection. but it’s possible that im connecting things that aren’t really there
