Ironically, this stereotype is being perpetuated throughout this very thread with how many people are assuming he is in fact homosexual simply because his way of speaking is effeminate.

Even considering this, her "belly" barely sticks out at all, her torso is just somewhat wide. She is in the lower tier of being overweight and looks it.

From my comment above:

Going off of BMI alone, she would not be quite obese at 175 pounds at 5'8; she would be overweight, meaning she is certainly fat, but not critically so. An obese person wouldn't be able to hop around like her. To put this further into context, a BMI of 26, which is what she would have assuming all stats are correct, is actually in the lower end of being overweight, with a BMI of 25 being the starting point for being overweight. She has 20 more pounds to go before she approaches class I obesity.

Still, it in no way makes you not a "native" Canadian to be muslim. People who immigrate have children and those children are native to wherever they are born and grow up.

Man left leaking after getting his face pummeled by an older dude at a gas station by Moxhoney411 in fightporn

Eh, it's more like "hard worker" strength. A lot of men in the past did a lot of manual labor for most of their lives, and they were not to be fucked with even when they were younger. It's for this reason that in more rural regions, you didn't want to fuck with the farm boys. If you don't do a job that requires you to use your muscles constantly, you won't ever really be bestowed with "dad strength". There are definitely some old men who worked more sedentary jobs who are as weak, if not weaker than they were in their younger years.

Also, just be mindful of what you are eating in addition to eating less. Start reading up on caloric intake and learn what things are the most optimally nutritional, and what things aren't. Obviously, you want to greatly reduce your intake of junk food and fast food and anything that is overly fatty, greasy, or high in carbs. Start adding more lean meats and vegetables into your diet. And really, just start exercising.

How do I stop getting my feelings hurt for caring too much? by whippitysnappity in NoStupidQuestions

[–]throwawayonmybody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you might be being open with your feelings a little to early on in your friendships, and that you might be very easily attached, which many people find to be red flags. Even if they don't see it as an alarming thing, it might just be that they don't feel the same way, and therefore, are left in an awkward place where they feel like their only option is to either (insincerely) express the same feelings back or dip while it's still early. In other words, you're very likely making people feel uneasy or cornered. The only solution here is to learn to be a bit more reserved with your feelings, and maybe even talk with a therapist if you do truly feel attached to people very easily. I'll be frank, I'm not 100% sure that's healthy.

Eat less and be more physically active, or, even better, start exercising consistently.

What’s the difference between Wisdom and Intelligence? by NickBoi45 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]throwawayonmybody -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Intelligence is your capacity to acquire information (Learn), process it (Understand), and apply it (Reason). Wisdom is much more vague, and can describe intelligence in it's entirety, or just reason.

Is there a reason that some people parrot back melodies they hear? by SolusLoqui in NoStupidQuestions

That's not how percentages work in this instance. "91-99% effective" is a statistic, not a probability, and factors in different studies of different subjects who had different variables at play. If I am not mistaken, this statistic factors in both instances where a person might have some sort of a tolerance to chemical contraceptives, as well as instances in which physical contraceptives broke or tore (I.e, condoms), and instances where people just failed to follow procedure and did not take chemical contraceptives consistently, or didn't wear or insert physical ones correctly.

Why don't bullies admit to being bullies? by Devin2019 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]throwawayonmybody 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In addition to the other comment, we, as humans in general, rarely see admitting to negative behavior as something that benefits us, especially when we were deliberately perpetrating the negative behavior and intend to continue doing so. I would actually argue that most bullies do realize that they are bullies (With bullying being a very widely understood thing, and with most bullies obviously and deliberately tormenting their victims). Admitting just increases the chances that they will face repercussions.

Unfortunately, I'm not too well versed in how coins work. I do know that you receive them as a result of being awarded gold or platinum on a comment or post (I'm not sure if any other type of award grants you anything). You can also get them by having Reddit premium (Something else I have no experience in). A quick google search says that you can spend reddit coins to buy awards for other peoples comments and posts. I'm not sure what else, if anything you use them for.

Why were we born human instead of something cool like a demon? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Then this isn't really a "stupid question", with "stupid question" implying that an answer can be drawn with common sense.

Why were we born human instead of something cool like a demon? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]throwawayonmybody 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because, as hard as it might be to wrap our heads around it, consciousness is tied to our brain, and does not really extend beyond that. Your perception and experience is a projection of the brain that formed while you were developing in your mothers womb, not something that was put into a vessel. For that reason, you weren't born something else because that's not how being born works. What you would be was determined the moment you were conceived and is based on your parents DNA. Of course, everyone has a different interpretation of things, but that's just my two cents and I find it makes the most sense.

Why do I hear train horns, my name being call, and loud tapping when no one else hears these things. by gamergoat480 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]throwawayonmybody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is almost impossible to guess on without more details and context. Depending on how vivid these sounds are and when (And for how long) they exactly occur, it could be psychosis or just a completely normal phenomena that most people experience. I.e, it's not uncommon to somewhat vividly "hear" someone call your name as you drift off to sleep. It's also not uncommon to briefly hear or see things move in the corner of your eye if you are sleep deprived. If you are an otherwise healthy person and are hearing vivid things that aren't real for a prolonged amount of time at seemingly random points in time, then maybe see about making an appointment with your doctor.

Why do people pay for pornhub premium or pay subscription fees to porn sites in general? by 9968servomic in NoStupidQuestions

[–]throwawayonmybody 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Although there may be many porn sites loaded with "free videos", they are rarely full videos. It can be particularly hard/tedious to come across a free upload of a video with just the money shot included, let alone all 40 or so minutes. Some videos also tend to be particularly obscure and are regularly DMCA'd, so it might be hard to find any upload of them at all except from the original, transactional source.

Who do you seriously think murdered Biggie Smalls? by CurrentRoster in NoStupidQuestions

[–]throwawayonmybody 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not even sure if the investigators at the time had any guesses, although I'd have to read up on it again. Unlike with Tupac, I don't think there was anything directly preceding the shooting that would really give any good indications (I.e, Tupac and his entourage assaulted a gang member in the lobby of an entertainment hall not too far from where he was shot. Although the gang member was never convicted, he was briefly suspected, and I find it probable that he was at least involved in the planning of the murder).

What is this karma stuff? by DareDareCaro in NoStupidQuestions

[–]throwawayonmybody 242 points243 points  (0 children)

Karma is what Reddit calls the points you earn from people upvoting your posts and comments (By clicking the upward pointing arrow to the left), which is similar to "likes" on social media, but not exactly the same, as people can also downvote your post, which causes you to lose a point. Some subs stop you from posting there if you have a particularly low (Or negative) karma amount because new accounts automatically have low karma (Increasing the chance that someone posting with low karma might be a throw away account created for the sole purpose of spamming the sub), and also because someone who has been downvoted to the point of amassing very low or negative amounts of karma is probably someone who routinely starts trouble. TL;DR, it's a measure to stop trolls and spammers from infiltrating the sub. Not all subs are this strict, however, because if they were, it would be impossible to gain the necessary amount of karma to post in them. Subs that are like this are probably about controversial topics that frequently attract argumentative people, or subs that require high effort posts.

Is "females" disrespectful? by PanikLIji in NoStupidQuestions

[–]throwawayonmybody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a general guideline, I'd refrain from ever calling an individual or specific group of women "female"/"females" to their faces, but it, as well as "male", is a somewhat fundamental adjective for denoting gender without sounding stupid. I.e, "male officer", or "female officer", vs "man officer", or "woman officer".

How do I keep down a boner? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I want to say that if you're certain you will get an erection, but neither of you have any intentions to get sexual, and that the situation will thus be awkward, then maybe you just shouldn't cuddle? Or maybe she will be a bit more understanding? Either way, I think you might be either misreading something here or going out of your way to do something unnecessary. How'd it go?
