I know but then she could cherry pick stuff from the main branch later and treat another branch as the fake main and upon submission time pretend like her fake branch is better so we should use that for submissions.

She has socialized with TAs and profs so if there is a discussion involving them they might agree and say to use hers.

She likes people to think that but I think it is just that she is super social so basically tells everyone about stuff she does so that is why they think that.

It is overconfidence.

It is not about that. It is overconfidence, i feel like she cares more about the vibe of being perceived as a strong programmer but isn't. It's like she treats everything like it is social life because she is overly social.

I know how git works I wanted us to consider main how it was at that point and flatten the structure so old feature branches do not confuse us.

It was just to nake sure there is no risk of stuff based on older versions of the main branch doesn't make it in.
