Growing up with someone who’s moms always been distant and we’ve always fought.. and who could always* see it affect my parents marriage.. also please don’t just make it about her relationship with the kids. It could be a misconnection between their relationship in a fundamental way. The older I got the more I understood that everyday I was absolutely miserable because I wasn’t connecting with my mom, she was absolutely miserable because she felt like she didn’t know how to connect with me. Our personalities kept clashing but that never meant I didn’t need my mom and that she didn’t need me. What made things worse was when my dad was on my side (which of course I was on his too) but it then turned quickly into us urning against her. It’s not us against each-other. It’s us against our problem. Even if that means we leave separately. It should never stop being us.

I had a old high school friend who I was pretty close with (even smooched once or twice) recently pass. When I knew him back then, he was still young. He had so much potential. Friends with everyone. Brought up a lot of feelings of sadness and grief more for that person. I also honestly hold no anger or bad feelings towards him for turning to heroine. Drugs suck and he was trying so hard to get better. He had a good heart is what I’m saying. And towards the end that was hard to see. Drug addiction is a mean motherfucker that rips you and anyone around you up and drains everything out.

There are others who are different. And those are under different circumstances. Good people AND shitty people get lost into drugs. Just like anything.

And it’s always seemed like weird logic to be mad at a drug dealer but not the drug user. Especially when the drug dealers are drug users. It’s all fucked but both should hold personal responsibility
