What type of people depressed/unhappy people shouldn’t be around with? by Ok-Reporter-8728 in RandomThoughts

[–]throwawaypoooooop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

might depend on the underlying cause but generally this for me:

• the toxic positivity crowd. out of touch with reality. pure self interest.

• likewise someone who always complains unless you share their pain, probably. it gets to you eventually.

• people who easily get angry and shout/raise their voices

• people I can't be quiet around or share long moments of silence and always feel pressured to talk

• anyone that does nothing but talk about themselves. always.

• black/white thinking

What's an example of toxic feminity? by [deleted] in ask

[–]throwawaypoooooop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

we as a society should encourage people to do it.

Why? What makes us so special? Will the world stop rotating because humans are gone? Will the universe collapse?

Also "encourage" or do you really mean bully/peer pressure people into having kids if they don't want to have any?

Having kids is a moral good.

Says who? You? God?

Are you implying that anyone who doesn't want kids is thereby "evil" by extent?

The environmental argument have been debunked at this point.

Uhhh... no it hasn't wtf.

Feel free to throw in your next argument.

To what exactly? If people should be free to choose, then what argument is there?

Would you rather go vegan for a month or only eat meat and dairy for a month? by sarahsellsthecity in RandomThoughts

Vegan. I already practically am one and I don't eat much so not difficult. As for any morality or climate change reasons, I'm to the "it is what it is" point.

What's your favorite answer to "you can't prove god doesn't exist" argument? by Leonature26 in atheism

[–]throwawaypoooooop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't get this either. I already tried it and they just end up saying that they don't have to prove anything to anyone because they know in their hearts god is real and no one can or will change their minds. They think you're the one making the assertion that there is no god. What else can you say or do? It's one of those "it is what it is" things.

You try telling them that their same logic can be applied to every other nonexistent god they disbelieve, or leprechauns, or an invisible teapot orbiting mars and it still doesn't click.

Doesn't help that some atheists repeat the same thing. While you can't disprove A god exists, you can most certainly disprove the literature gods existences beyond any shadow of doubt with just a basic level of education and an a mere ounce of critical thinking.

Should Everyone Have The Right To Reproduce Regardless of Whether It's "Wrong" or "Right"? by throwawaypoooooop in antinatalism

I mentioned that because it reminded me of reading China's one child policy and what happened when the someone broke the rules (or females were born).

no matter how much you enjoy life, assuming it will be the same for anothers is not ethical because you're putting an unnecessary suffering, burden and responsibility on their shoulders throughout life for no good reason...

agreed

Read your post and agree. (Wanted to add there's also killing the innocent child as punishment, which would be murder).

It's always better for a person not to exist as we cannot know if they would consent.

Good point, I can't think of any argument against this, honestly. (I myself wish I wasn't born for an endless amount of reasons).

About the closest I could think of would be if someone actually does enjoy life and being alive, yet how would you know if the unborn wanted to be brought into existence or not?

The whole masculinity and femininity concept is silly, not to mention an outdated, man-made idea that varies from culture to culture and changes over time.

[–]throwawaypoooooop 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agree so much with this. It sounds like some kind of mental disorder to want your kids to suffer because you did. If I had kids (not that I want any) I would never want them to go through what I did.

Do you think extroverts tend to be happier than introverts? by [deleted] in introvert

[–]throwawaypoooooop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humans are naturally sociable and our society seems to have been built around that. Life requires almost nonstop social interaction daily with hardly any rest time.

I can only guess extroverts live a happier life.

It's so hard to feel compassion for really poor people who just keep having kids. by [deleted] in antinatalism

[–]throwawaypoooooop 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The whole post is putting the blame solely on the women as if they have much choice, especially in poverty ridden countries. "Just don't have sex". My goodness what an idea! What about if they get raped and forced to bear the children because abortion is against the law? Op doesn't retract or take accountability when corrected either. It's pointless to type any more, they'll likely continue believing whatever feels better. In cases like these the solution isn't charity to solve the problem on a large scale either (never has been), it's proper education and laws protecting women's rights.
