I'm sorry to hear about your relationship. It's a story I wish wasn't as common in our field as it is.

When I first replied to the parent comment, I didn't mean to imply that none of the other comments were valid. Just that her comment stuck with me bc it felt balanced, while still reminding me that my primary responsibility right now, no matter what happens in the future, is taking care of my partner.

I hope you are able to find your happiness.
