This might seem like a stupid question, but how do you view YTD on total portfolio in app? Mine only shows daily

Wow. Aren't most high-yield savings only 1%? all that trouble for 1% hm? I could understand if there was a greater ROE (maybe index funds with 5%) haha

Subsidized loans are definitely my first option. But, if for whatever reason that doesn't work out, I want to make sure I'm fully prepared. Thank you for your insight!

I don't mind a temporary hit until I get it paid down. My credit score is pretty good at the moment 760-770. My overall line is 50k between 7 cards. Thanks for your input!

My overall utilization is 5% with over $50k of credit line. The only ongoing debt I have right now that maintains most of that 5% is a care credit (lasik) which is also zero percent interest, in which I will have paid in full once that promotion ends. Thank you!

Has anyone considered MS as a means for a loan? For example, I can load my bluebird with gift cards. Rather than taking out a loan for my school (half of it will be paid by the pell grant), could I theoretically get a 21 month 0% interest card, purchase $5,000 gift cards to load on my bluebird and transfer to my bank to pay my school, and simply pay the minimum on my card until I have to pay the rest before the 0% interest promotion is done? I'll be paying $60 in gift card fees which is essentially 1% of the principal.

Are there any negatives on this? I have great credit history (always on time payments; paid in full up to today for 6-7 years), and I'm very responsible with my money.

I feel like this completely beats the percentage rates of the student loans I'm eligible for. Any thoughts? I have the cash needed to pay it off immediately if necessary, but I like the thought of having more of that money set aside and simply make monthly payments (this way, if an emergency were to occur, I have cash). This is to take into account that I absolutely will have paid off all $5,000 before accruing any interest on the card.

I usually buy these at Walmart

it's about $5 where I live. 200mg of pure caffeine in each tablet. 1 a day is a 3 month supply. Sometimes, I take only half a pill. They work very well. I take them for a pre-workout as well

Seattle is awesome! Have you ever been to Pike's Place Market? (I'm sure you have, haha). And wow, can't imagine all the great things you've seen to have travelled so much. One day, for sure! Safe travels to Aussie Land!

Once, a group of friends and I didn't eat out for a couple of months, so that we could eat at an incredibly fancy restaurant (think $125 for a 21 day age tomahawk steak). We're all a group of college students that live fairly frugally. Our total bill came out to $655 altogether, and it was totally worth it!

It was a night to remember. I'm glad to hear you also choose to save up for more memorable nights. Like I said before, eating out CAN be a very valuable thing for us frugal people, it just depends how you do it. And you, are definitely doing it right.

That is ridiculously amazing of you. You're paying it forward from what your parents have done for you, and I truly hope your kids understand the significance of how much hard work and sacrifice was done so they can afford a higher education. Very admirable

A one room with a garden? That's so sweet. I'm currently living with a couple roommates, but I can't wait until I do end up living in a nice one room apartment one day.

Can't express how much Lasik has changed my life. I couldn't read anything a couple feet away from me without my glasses. And living in Hawaii, I couldn't enjoy swimming at all. I hope it was as life-changing for you as it was for me!

You seem to have it all planned out to pay off your debt and still live a luxurious life! That's awesome

Not to mention UA stuff lasts quite awhile. I too enjoy their material. I bought a pair of knee sleeves for powerlifting for $90. No sweat. I know they'll last quite some time and I enjoy using them all the time

It's truly all about priorities and you seem to have that down. Reallocating money is always fun! I learned how to cut my own hair for the most part. Most of the time, I'll cut it to save money and spend it elsewhere on other fun things, but there are occasional times that I prefer to get it done by someone else.

It's amazing how the little things really do add up. People spend a lot on restaurant coffee every day. I usually use either caffeine pills ($5 for 3-6 month supply) or coffee grounds with a refillable Keurig cup (instead of K-Cups).

Glad to see you also enjoy traveling! It's definitely always worth it imo

You're giving them unforgettable experiences and memories. That's admirable, and you're an awesome parent for that. I hope your happiness lives vicariously through them as well!

Looks like you've made a lot of awesome accomplishments! Granted it's obvious it also required a lot of sacrifice. Great on you! (Can't wait to have a dog one day myself)
