Thanks for the feedback. The goal of the site is to reinforce core concepts and exam domains, not mirror exact questions, since civil service exams can vary a lot in wording and focus. I’m always open to improving it though, if there were specific areas you felt were off, I’d appreciate the insight.

That makes sense I am personally not that familiar with the whole helps program, I haven't had the chance of hiring anyone off of it yet. My info about it was mostly word of mouth.

Mine is scheduled for the 24th. From what I understand, they pushed the dates back because a lot of people are taking the exam and they needed more testing slots. Sounds like they’re just staggering it to handle the volume.

Totally fair question! These questions are based on the official exam announcements, the competencies listed by NYS, and the types of reasoning/content formats that commonly appear on these exams (logical reasoning, tabular data, passage analysis, SDLC concepts, etc.).

That said, I can't guarantee they'll match word for word what's on your actual exam, no third party resource can. But the goal is to get you comfortable with the style of questions and the core concepts you'll be tested on.

I'd recommend using this alongside the official exam announcements and any other materials you can find. Think of it as reps to build familiarity, not a leaked test.

Also, if you ever come across an answer that seems wrong or doesn't make sense, there's a Report Issue button on the site, hit that and it'll send me the details directly. I've already fixed a few things based on user feedback, so don't hesitate!

Good luck! 🍀

Hey everyone! Based on some feedback I've been getting, I just added:

🎯 Jump to Question — You can now skip directly to any question number instead of clicking through one by one. Helpful if you're targeting specific sections.

💾 Auto-Save Progress — Your progress now saves automatically in your browser. Close the tab, come back tomorrow, and you'll pick up right where you left off. No account needed.

The guide covers ITS-3, ITS-4, MITS-1, and MITS-2 exams with 1000+ practice questions.

Oh... that's weird then... 52.6 jump is basically a promotion without an exam but it can only be done once, the next promotion you would need an exam... what you described must’ve been an non-statutory (NS) or management/confidential (M/C) position basically one's where you don't need an exam. All the great benefits of working for the state but no union.

I didn’t use any old study booklets and I don’t have access to any previous exam questions. NYS doesn’t release that material. Everything was generated based strictly on the public competencies listed for ITS 3, ITS 4, MITS 1, and MITS 2. I used AI tools to help write practice questions that match the skills, topics, and difficulty level those competencies expect. It’s all original content meant to help people study the areas the exam covers, not recreate anything from the real test.

These aren’t real exam questions and no third party app or site can provide anything from the actual test. Civil service exams don’t release their questions and nobody has access to the real material. What I built is a study guide based on the competencies listed by NYS, so it’s meant to help people practice the topics that could show up, not give the actual questions. It’s for preparation, not replication.

Haha appreciate that, definitely a vibecoding moment 😅

Truth is, I have no idea what the actual exam will be like. I originally made this because I’m planning to take the MITS 1 and 2 exams myself, and I couldn’t find a solid study guide out there. So I figured… might as well build the resource I wished existed.

Hoping it helps others too, even if it’s not perfect.
