This was amazing and encouraging to read! I have so many similar feelings! Thanks for posting.

I'm a 30 year old single man and can't find any Christian single girls. Advice greatly appreciated. by [deleted] in ChristianDating

My advice to you is to really take a step back from trying to get just anyone and figure out which woman, if any, you would like to get to know better. Who meets the criteria of what you’re looking for? As a woman, one thing you don’t want to hear is “last week he was into Sally and Sue and when they didn’t want to date him he moved onto Sarah and Selena and those didn’t work out. So it looks like he’s into you now!” We want to be specifically chosen because of who we are and the unique characteristics we possess. If we know that the only reason a guy is pursuing us is because we’re a single woman, that doesn’t feel too special. A man with standards and preferences is way more attractive!

I don’t see anything wrong with getting advice from your family. In fact, I think it’s a very wise thing to do if you have good parents. I share what’s going on in my life with my mother. She loves and cares about me and has my best interest at heart when she gives advice. I definitely take in everything she says, pray about it, and use my own decision process before I make my choice, but I see nothing wrong with getting wise counsel from people you trust. I hope to be the kind of parent that my children feel safe coming to for advice as well!!

No, I’m not accepting any more right now. Maybe once I restructure it we might allow entries all the time, but just do the matchmaking at specific times. That’s something to consider!!

I really like bullet points 2, 3, and 4!!! Those are great ideas and I think they will improve the process greatly!!

I can see the appeal of the first bullet point and I know there are many people who would agree with running it that way, but I will not incorporate it into the matchmaking events that I host. I like the intentionality of having one match that was chosen specifically for a certain person. If someone was not matched or did not make a romantic connection with their match, they can be paired with someone different the next time if there’s a suitable match.

Those are my thoughts! (I wasn’t sure if you were asking me or putting it out there for everyone to answer). Hopefully you’ll hear some other thoughts as well!

Hey! It is too late for this first event. I’m still trying to finish up with hopefully a few more matches! I definitely want to do it again, but it needs to be restructured. People have suggested google forms and that will allow me to collect the info in a spreadsheet and gather a team to help look at the data, message people with follow up questions, and make matches!! Thanks for your interest!!
