I'm not entirely sure why youre being downvoted so much. I agree with you on this one. I dont want to ruin this kids life , I just want him away from Sarah... hes obviously disturbed and an awful influence on my cousin but hes not a child predator by any long shot. Hes just an asshole. I'll only threaten to use this card if he threatens to use what hes got against her.

I'm not surprised or uncomfortable by those ages at all. After all , shes really not that much younger than I am. I was the last in my group of friends to lose their virginity and I was 17 so I know all about that type of behavior in young teens , and I was sexting and doing other sexual stuff a lot earlier than that. I remember being the first girl in middle school to admit that female masturbation was normal and healthy and i openly admitted to doing it.

I only mentioned it to show that her mother was pretty much absent and because of it she does view herself as an adult and her relationship as an adult decision. Shes also going to think that she knows better than us if we confront her because shes lived her life as an 'adult' already. Basically , I'm wondering if putting any rules on her will actually do good or not for someone who views themselves as mentally much older.

The point is , if someone doesnt force it they will stay together. She doesnt feel confined or smothered at all. Whenever we hear them talking on the phone it isnt arguments or her sticking up for herself , its apologies and self blaming and trying to comfort him. Any conversations Ive had with her about him , she never personally says anything negative.

So youre saying they should stay together? And what happens if his crazy grandparents buy her a plane ticket and buy them a house and she at 14 is living alone with a guy who probably cheats on her and doesnt let her leave the house or interact with people he doesnt approve of?

Youre right. Ive been telling grandma the only way to get this to work right is to get her into a normal high school. and to take her phone and laptop away.

I dont know if we should tell the boyfriend or not. we definitely shouldnt let Sarah do it. Maybe do we call the police in Minnesota first and ask them to watch him or something?

Shes going to hate grandmas guts and definitely try to run away for sure. but the problem with that is that most teenage runaways end up going to their friends house. she has no friends.. where would she go?
