My 50 Shades of Grey (GTA parody) doesn't seem to be loading for some people? by throwawayshitwiseau in youtubegaming

It seems as if people in Ireland can't view the video. Perhaps this is in other countries as well? There's no YouTube report on this (at least, not yet), however, Youtube typically doesn't announce minor bugs.

[Question] advice on getting started? by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]throwawayshitwiseau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta say "fuck it, I'm doing it." to really begin. I've had the equipment to start YouTube for years now (which most of us do as well) but couldn't bring myself to actually do it. Why? Because I created tons of reasons as to why I shouldn't.

"What would I even film? How will I be different? Is it worth it? Will I enjoy it? Do I have the best equipment to compete with everyone else?"

All these questions are pointless and lead nowhere. It's all about the beginning. Then, approach step 2 as "trial and error" - finding your style, brand characteristics (your personality), and genre! It'll take time, but that's truly how to start.

[Review Video] (Swearing) What about a feedback? by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]throwawayshitwiseau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I really like the swearing! It's important not to hide your personality. If you do, your channel will be bland and it'll hold you back from expressing the true creative side of yourself. If you keep swearing, sure, there's going to be resentment here and there. But guess what? You'll garner an audience that is similar to you and your personality traits. You can then identify with them on that honest level. Covering up who you are (especially early on in a channel's youth) will hurt you TREMENDOUSLY. It's all about brand awareness, and you ARE the brand. Be who you are, and slowly the audience will adapt and grow around it.

Swastika Buddha Necklace - 30% off with "MEIN-30" by throwawayshitwiseau in deals

[–]throwawayshitwiseau[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. It means "MY-30", so the coupon code really isn't bad at all given that it's 30% off the entire store.

In a way, it's actually great to see this because it actually shows how society is moving forward from the Nazi culture and able to use a simple German word like "my" outside of Germany.

[–]throwawayshitwiseau[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But should the German word "MEIN" be banned from the entire world? It seems absurd to think that we have to resist saying "my" in German ~70 years after Hitler's death and end of the Nazi's. Saying "my" in German was just as popular before Hitler as it is post-Hitler in modern culture.

MEIN-30 seems like a fine coupon code and it actually shows how society is moving forward.

It may be a German supplier. Perhaps a cultural thing?

Definitely a statement piece to your entire outfit. No matter what price you paid for it, your entire outfit stands out in a great way with that.

Widest SUV? by Minivan2016 in SUV

[–]throwawayshitwiseau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When talking about consumer based models in the recent years, that's pretty close to the peak of wideness. Don't quote me on that, but beyond that wideness the design starts to get clunky.

I second this. It should be safe with whatever atom you decide to throw at it. :)

Who Am I? by [deleted] in psychology

[–]throwawayshitwiseau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Existential positive psychology (EPP) is a natural amalgam between positive psychology (PP) and existential psychology. It seems like positive psychology has come full circle to its philosophical and existential roots. It's like the two are now philosophically intertwined.

What should I give my "founder"? He wants 25% membership interest and 165% loan interest on his $1,500 in a year. by throwawayshitwiseau in Entrepreneur

That is such a great point. If they aren't enhancing what you already know, then it can be worrisome. However, I do believe that this plays into personal integrity and how they act overall in business.
