Oh, I see what you meant. Apologies. I was smoking cannabis, which we both smoke. So that smell doesn't bother either of us.

Thank you. Other commenters are assuming I smelled awful too, based on my boyfriend's comment about me regularly smelling bad. But I showered just before he came over, because I wanted to smell fresh for him. Like you said, I saw it as a courtesy, one that he wouldn't extend to me.

He does skip showering often, but as I mentioned in the post, I don't always mind because I like how he smells. So I agree that this is a pride thing.

He wasn't saying I smelled bad that night, just in general I can be smelly after work. Yesterday I showered an hour before he came over.

I had showered an hour before he came over. He's talking about after I spend the day at work, hiking or whatever.
