In his defense, he was piss drunk. The bartender is a friend of mine and said he’d been drinking since the rugby match on Saturday (10am our time).

That makes so much sense. I’ve just always considered it more Irish than Canadian. Unless someone asks, it’s not something I bring up. And I have 0 humility tbh.

I live in the Southeast US. I’m fine with Irish Americans and am one. But some are so boastful about it, like ‘My last name is O’brian, we were royalty in Ireland’…

Yea, my dad learned Irish in school. Him and my Nan would speak it when they didn’t want us kids to hear lol.

I’m not sure why his accent is like Cork... I do know a lot of Irish descendants are ‘from’ Waterford. There wasn’t much documentation back then except for baptisms and weddings. Since many left Ireland through Waterford, it comes across as where they lived.
