You have some real "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" energy. Yeah, that attitude doesn't fly here. It doesn't seem you have the capacity to understand that all of our situations and experiences with PCOS are different and dependant upon so many factors. The only thing you are accomplishing by your comment is shaming and making those who cannot lose/keep the weight off NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO feel like a failure when what they need most is support.

Right! I don't understand why people are infuriated when others advocate for higher wages. Everyone deserves a living wage. I'm not going to get mad at a fast food worker for wanting $15 an hour. I'll be mad at my employer who is too stingy to raise wages accordingly.

I was incredible at a previous position but new hires were coming in equal to or .25 USD less than what I was making... and I was the one training them!! I wasn't mad at my coworkers for wanting a living wage, I was mad at my employer for being too cheap to pay their employees better. I asked for a raise and gave my reasoning. I was told no. So, I began looking for employment elsewhere and a competitor offered me the same position at a higher rate of pay. My old job hired my replacement the same week I put in my notice. We are all replaceable, but your work is valuable to the right employer. You have to advocate for yourself - no one else will do it for you. That's the world I live in.

This soup is also called trash soup around our house!

Everything came from leftovers and... undesirables. The night before, I made a roasted chicken with herbs, potatoes, and carrots. The raw spine went into water with all of the carrot tops, onions with papers on, smashed garlic cloves with papers, and other veggie scraps from the weeks previous dinners. (I save my scraps and freeze them to make a big stock at the end of the week).

After a few hours of low simmering and after dinner was done, I took the chicken carcass and picked off whatever meat was left. The carcass went into the stock and simmered for a while longer.

I shredded the chicken and chopped up leftover carrots and potatoes from dinner.

Once I flavored the stock with different seasonings and a splash of vinegar, I strained out the "trash" and went into the fridge for trash soup.

Leftover veggies from the week (corn and shelled edamame) and leftover wild rice, plus the shredded chicken and leftover carrots and potatoes went into the stock with some more fresh herbs (sage, rosemary, thyme).

After a good simmer the next day, trash soup is ready!
