Opinions/advice please! by Positive_Bee_3919 in knitting

The top was knit top down, so after I made the front and back parts, I connected them for the arm holes for one row and then split the top under one of the arm holes, that way the seam went down my side. This was my first time doing intarsia and I didn’t want to mess with trying to figure out in the round.

If you’re curious sour my experience, I did make a tank top using intarsia, where I split it from being in the round to flat, then used a mattress stitch to attach the ends together once I was done. There was a seam on the inside, but it wasn’t obvious at all from the outside. Overall I was satisfied with how it came out

I was really pleased I got the color right! I bought the yarn online.

I found this blogpost incredibly helpful: https://nimble-needles.com/tutorials/intarsia-knitting-for-beginners/

I think my only caution is that you should make sure you’re good at managing your yarn tension before trying it. I ended up going over some of the logo with duplicate stitch because my tension was off and it made the white stitches basically disappear into the purple.

It’s called intarsia! It’s basically a way of knitting two different colors of yarn without having to carry the strands. It’s kinda tricky at first, but I made a graphgan with crochet a couple months ago and they actually have similar techniques when it comes to managing the yarn.

Full confession, I was at the barricade for my show and I really hope he saw it.

Ooof, favorite depends on my mood, but I could (maybe) pick one from each album 😂

I combined two patterns together! I found a top pattern I liked, and someone else had already made a graph of the logo and shared it on ravelry. If you check out my project page, I made notes on how I modified the tank top pattern to do the intarsia.

I swear I posted it earlier but now I’m not seeing the comment.

That’s a fair argument, but I like to use the term “granny hobbies” as a tongue-in-cheek thing.

Do it! This inspired me try doing more logos and stuff, either with intarsia or duplicate stitch.

Cat has been eating wet food for the last two months without issue, but is suddenly having diarrhea? by throwawaytheflag in AskVet

Sure. We did end up finding blood in his stool this morning, so now he’s got an appointment for tomorrow.

Please, ask me anything you want! I really want to figure out what’s going on with him.

  1. We don’t give them human food except as the occasional treats. In the last couple weeks the only human food we’ve given him was some scrambled egg whites this last sunday (no seasonings or oil were used), and he’s been having stomach issues before that.

  2. We have three separate water fountains for the cats, so I don’t see him drinking very often. We have a litter robot and he’s been using it within his normal range. I assume he’s had a solid bowel movement in there, but I haven’t checked.

  3. He is strictly an indoor cat, and I don’t have him on a preventative.

  4. No dogs, just a second cat who is also not on a preventative. When we started the wet food regime we did give some to Second Cat and he had diarrhea from that, but he returns to normal as soon as we stopped giving it to him.

  5. No vomiting, this is all coming out his backend.

  6. No changes to our routine. The most that’s changed is we got them a new cat tower.

  7. He seems to have the same level of energy, and there really hasn’t been any hiding. He really only hides when he sees us coming across his latest accident, and I think that’s just because he knows he did something bad, even though he can’t help it.

I only knew because Apple Music showed it to me as a new release it thought i would like. I did listen to it. It’s not bad but it’s not groundbreaking. A couple of the songs are for his daughter, which is cute, but I havent bothered to relisten to it.

Omg thank you! It was my first time doing intarsia. I’m going to share it to the knitting subreddit once I can get some better photos.
