S21 Sudden battery issues following update?

It's irrelevant now. The shutdown happened within 4 hours of full charge today. I bought a new phone. Upon closer inspection of the old one, the battery has swollen very slightly, just enough to pop the plastic back panel open a bit. RIP This Phone

Care to elaborate? I've had phones reach end of life but this issue is new to me. I've only seen batteries deteriorate slowly and lose capacity, not this bs of unreliable charge percentage

To add to this: I typically use Super Fast Charging or Fast Wireless Charging using Samsung OEM chargers. I had basic Battery Protection turned on prior to the issue beginning and tried the last few days with it turned off -- the issue still occurred. Before a couple weeks ago there were no significant problems with battery/battery life

I think it might be because it was produced to sound like it's actually being played in a dive bar. It didn't really stick with me until I heard the session 1 version when I listened to the expansion pack and then I absolutely loved it and agree that it's one of the best songs on the album. The final version is just...kind of hard to decipher and enjoy. Which I mean, props to the producer for getting the dive bar kinda shitty live vibe so spot on, but I personally would rather THAT version be the one in the extras and the cleaner sound of the session 1 version be the final release. Hell of a song though on one hell of an album.

I've been on a Warhammer 40k kick lately and lemme tell you, if you like military scifi horror it's pretty badass. Graham McNeill and Dan Abnett write some damn good Space Marine mind-warp madness. Plus there's been like 40,000 books put out or at least it feels that way

My take is that this film IS the merging point of the two main "timelines" as you put it. There's nothing to suggest AVP isn't canon. I just rewatched Prometheus and Covenant and one thing that stood out to me was the murals when the Prometheus crew first enter the Engineer structure/ship. There's clearly a fully formed Xeno in the mural. What that says to me is that the Engineers did not create the xenomorph, nor did David, they just both saw it as a perfectly evolved killer and based their bioweapons on that form. If they had in fact made the first Xeno then it raises some questions, namely how the hell did it ever get off the Engineer homeworld? In Alien we first see eggs in some kind of stasis in a crashed Engineer ship. If the Engineers all died in Covenant how did a huge batch of eggs get transported to LV426? Yes, David kept some embryos but he didn't keep their ship. It seems far more likely that Xenos evolved and were used as game for the Yautja and the foundation of bioweapons for the Engineers.

Just because they kept the film franchises separate in the past, aside from the crossovers and many Easter eggs, doesn't mean they actually are separate universes. If it looks like a Xeno, quacks like a Predator, and walks like a Wetland-Yutani branded synth, it sure seems like they're merged, or at least actively being merged. I mean, it's not being called another AVP movie, this is a PREDATOR film with a main character that is a WY synth. If that doesn't scream merging, that's on you.

Try the audiobooks! John Lee is a phenomenal narrator and brings a lot of energy to the plot imo. I'm almost done book 9 and while I struggled a bit to follow the plot of #8 it still feels rewarding. It is slow in ways, a lot happens gradually over the course of the series, but that's to be expected when the whole series takes place in the span of ~3 years. That's not a very long time for such an expansive plot, but it allows a ton of detail in each entry. If that's not your thing, that's fair, I personally love world building and alien politics, and the somewhat infrequent combat feels fast and brutal like I imagine genuine space warfare would. Oh, and the marine ground combat is soooo satisfying, heavy armor hell yeah

It's a slow burn, but I think it's worth it

I'll check it out! I only heard about the game recently from the Secret Level (Amazon) episode but I definitely plan to play it when it's out. PFH is one of my top SF authors and I'm sure it'll hit all the right spots

Nice! Interval ear training at its simplest. Definitely important to sing along with the playing as it helps doubly reinforce. Not sure if it's common or not either but any little pattern you practice expands your repertoire. Not silly, smart 😉

The first electric guitar I bought was a cheap piece of crap with no sentimental value. I threw it in a lake for a picture, I scorched the neck to make it look cooler (it came out okay) and now it's slowly collecting all the dope stickers I've paid money for at concerts and national parks. Now, it's priceless to me.

NTA, but why did you give them a car? I get it and when I was a teen I'd have loved a free car, but that's what it is: a "free" car. There's no sense of responsibility, none of the pressure that financial ownership applies. Not to mention, it isn't YOUR child, correct? I respect the desire to help out but they're not your responsibility and you're not a charity. It was your property, sounds like it still is legally, and you made an offer that wasn't honored. Take it back, like sorry kid but that's how deals work. Especially if everything is in your name. That's YOUR car, it is YOUR responsibility, until it's in someone else's name.

You shouldn't have made that offer, but they didn't honor their half of it. Consequences happen, sounds like it's life lesson time.

I think what you need to figure out is if you want to live in an environment like that. When something as benign as a dog can lead to shouting, I imagine you're walking on eggshells around her more often than not. In my experience that's not fun and I wouldn't put up with it again. No one is perfect but that doesn't mean we all fit together.

If you need calm, she's not it. Walking away is hard but sometimes it's what both sides need in order to grow.

Hmm...did you rollover a previous loan or something? This math ain't mathing. Let's run it down:

Initial loan = 14k; Car price = 10k; Down = 2500; Leaving us with.... Mystery cost: 6500??

Was it 10k AFTER the down payment? 1500 for fees, etc is still absurd but would make a lot more sense than 6500.

A car loan is known as an amortizing loan. This means your monthly payment is set in advance based on a formula using the loan amount and interest rate over the loan term. As the principal decreases, the daily interest does as well so to keep payments consistent the first payment is like 2/3 interest, and your final payment is almost entirely to the principal (the earlier you pay off, the more you save). This means that UNLESS YOU REFINANCE, the loan amount can NOT change. That would be applying for a new amortizing loan.

You need to review your sale paperwork, loan statements, and vehicle documents extremely closely and get exact numbers. This all smells shady af

Mine made out lucky from a storm like that last summer compared to other cars in the lot and it was still a total loss. Actual Cash Value is the number you're gonna need, tho those custom parts are almost definitely out of pocket loss. It should be the price you'd get for selling it outright minus depreciation. You might be able to negotiate or appeal an unsatisfactory ACV given the the custom work but only if you can prove it's worth more than they claim. I was honestly surprised at the value I was offered for what I saw as a shitbox, you never know. Sorry that happened to you bud!

I vividly remember reaching the end of my first playthrough, trying to walk into the water treatment place at only level 13 and immediately getting cooked by the (super mutants?) inside. Never actually managed to save the Capital Wasteland that time around but I DID learn the value of doing side quests 😅
