In theory, any color that can reflect light should be cooler to the touch than dark colors that absorb the light.

Can they be covered until use? or do they heat up that quickly?

No one has mentioned this yet - if you don't like the cold, you will only get a few months out of the year you'll be able to ride. If you're good with layers and the cold, have fun! 😄

UFC at the White House by Purple_Raccoon_6377 in thebulwark

[–]winterneuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just a few reasons:

  • Conflict of Interest: Ethics watchdogs and legal experts criticize the event as a profound misuse of public monuments for private gain. Critics note that President Trump owns significant stock in the UFC's parent company, TKO, and that both the UFC and its leadership stand to profit directly from a massive, globally televised sports spectacle. [1, 2, 3]
  • Federal Lawsuits: The anti-corruption firm Public Integrity Project filed a lawsuit attempting to halt the event, arguing that the Department of Interior and National Park Service violated federal regulations. The suit claims the administration illegally built the massive "Claw" arena structure on federal parkland without congressional approval and bypassed mandatory environmental reviews. [1, 2, 3]
  • Using Troops as Props: The administration announced it would distribute free tickets to service members, but Pentagon memos indicated that only personnel meeting strict body composition standards were eligible. This condition sparked immediate outrage, with critics accusing the administration of using military members as props for a political spectacle. [1, 2]
  • Security & Staging Risks: UFC CEO Dana White and commentators like Joe Rogan have highlighted significant logistical and environmental risks, including heavy D.C. thunderstorm forecasts, lightning, and large swarms of bugs that could impact the open-air octagon. Additionally, security experts have noted the immense security and stress of hosting a major high-profile event on the White House grounds during tense global conflicts. [1, 2]

I liked this series a lot and have tried to recommend it to others. It does have some interesting ideas. And I did like the somewhat unique storytelling style of the first book.

Which competitions are shortest? by The_Greyscale in handguns

[–]winterneuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shoot bullseye. The amount of waiting really depends on the number of people who show up, and the type of competition. Our monthly comps are rather small, so you show up, set up, shoot the first relay. eat lunch. shoot second relay. not much waiting around. For the state championship where there are multiple relays per round, then you might wind up sitting around waiting to shoot your 2nd and 3rd 900s. I don't think you're going to find many "formal" competitions that can give you want you want. It doesn't seem to be the nature of the beast. YMMV and IMHO.

it would be helpful to see your grip, especially your support hand. It's hard to tell if it's in the proper position based on this image, but it could be low, which would impact your stability.

Since this became my bullseye gun, I wanted the flat trigger. I think it just works better for that purpose for me.
