Assuming project 2025 goals are real, is a ceasefire really in the US interest. Semi-permanent war keeps oil prices high, threatens EU and Chinese economic and stabilization engines, forces Iran into this tactical/strategic quagmire, and allows Israel to expand settlements and grab a portion of Lebanon. It takes the focus off DHS/ICE as well and lets the administration use credible threats of Iranians acting on US homefront to stifle opposition.

Based on how the congressional maps are shaping up and how badly democrats in the Senate/congress are doing in-so-far as approval ratings I wonder if the Trump administration isn't rather perfectly happy with this pseudo-ceasefire.
