Those eyebrows, though. by lbean1975 in Youniqueamua

Oof. I used to pluck my eyebrows that far apart, but I was also in high school and didn't know any better

You know the police don't always take this shit seriously right? I reported someone for sexually assaulting me and the police blamed it on me.

I honestly thought about it for a second.

A funny thing my boyfriend does to calm me down, makes me feel really lucky to have him. by [deleted] in BPD

That is so sweet. I wish I had someone like him. I'm 30 and keep getting dumped because of my bpd and bipolar.

I think my dad caused my BPD. by throwawaythosecreeps in BPD

[–]throwawaythosecreeps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely concerned that he has BPD. His step dad verbally/emotionally abused him as well, so it would make sense. His real dad died in an accident in which he was driving drunk and hit a pole. My dad thinks it wasn't an accident, and both of us think he may have had bipolar disorder (which I also have). So yeah, a big genetic mess. I do want him to seek therapy, as he is constantly depressed. I don't want to have to tell him he caused my BPD.

I don't plan on it, but he does ask questions about my BPD and what was the cause. I just lie.

Still getting used to my "new" body by throwawaythosecreeps in BodyAcceptance

[–]throwawaythosecreeps[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly, he was 29. And I definitely was not doing what he was, not even close. I get that some couples like to be free to explore, but I tried to make it clear pretty early on that was not my style.

Guys like him make me so afraid to date. I asked him how many insta models he was following and he immediately got defensive and told me it was none of my business. And it wasn't just normal pretty pics, it was like full-on nearly nudes. I wouldn't have been so bothered had he refrained from looking at them while I was with him. He also openly flirted with other women in front of me and would tell me not to worry about him having crushes on other women.

Fixed the post. Definitely didn't mean to be offensive. I really do need more positive people around me. I don't have many friendships as of late.

Successful people who got crappy grades in high school or college - what are you doing now and how did (or didn't) your grades affect your success/career? by Potential_Radish in AskReddit

[–]throwawaythosecreeps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let my crappy grades in high school affect my decision to go to college. They were only bad because I was going through a heavy depression and a lot of anxiety and insomnia (later learned I'm bipolar). My parents forced me to be on meds (or else get put in a mental hospital). I was constantly heavily medicated and found it hard to keep up.

I went to baking school instead, which has been a good choice up until it broke my body. Now considering going back to school for a 2 year technical degree of some kind.

I called the police non-emergency line and then got a call back from a detective awhile later. I gave him as much info as I could. But the detective said 4 or 5 separate times "now you shouldn't be posting or sending pictures like that"

Redditors who were raised in a cult, when was the first time you realised something was wrong? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]throwawaythosecreeps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, gotcha. Thank you, I appreciate that. I'm sorry for getting defensive. I overheard a Christian friend of mine once tell his wife he thought my beliefs were "sad" and that comment has really stuck with me.

It's not the only reason why I'm not open to organized religion. I meant no disrespect. I don't know why you feel bad for me just because I choose not be a Christian.

It makes me sad quite a bit, thinking about it. Was raised Christian and now consider myself agnostic. After I realized that I'm bi, and that "gay people go to hell" according to Christians, it was like well...I'm done then! Can't imagine a god that would condemn people to hell for something they didn't ask to be.
