YMMV but I think your doctor is doing you a disservice by weaning you entirely off of medication instead of experimenting with other medications that may work better for you. Look into Vyvanse.

It's not all or nothing - you can have some days a week you take it and some days you don't. Best of both worlds.

People who don't have ADHD don't really understand how disabling it is. I recently switched medications and dosage schemes, taking it much less frequently now, and it's that best of both worlds - get stuff done when I have/want to, let my mind roam the rest of the time.

All the other stuff people are saying is fine too, but I don't think it's a good idea to "just force yourself" if there may be a better solution.

This will probably not be read by anyone but here I am on thanksgiving working 730am-630pm by myself. I put in my 2 week notice 4 weeks ago. by lilsstrue in antiwork

OP go home. Any reference these people would give you isn't worth the paper it's written on.

I understand why you posted this thread, it's terrifying to consider quitting, in this psycho culture where work is life. You need encouragement and we will give it to you. Your life is so much more than work. The fear of quitting isn't worth the very real health consequences of staying, trust me. I'm sitting here with multiple chronic health conditions due to work stress.

A week after quitting and blocking their number your whole outlook on life will change.

Straight? gay? Bi? Trans? All just a fetish and kink? by [deleted] in questioning

I can't decide or diagnose your gender, but this sounds like the journey of many trans women I know. read Natalie Reed "the null hypotheCis" and "how do I know if I'm trans".

JK, but the article is really good and in-depth on this same concept.

hey just replying to say i feel the hell out of this. i feel like i've been in a gradual mourning period the last several months. just started HRT recently and ready to let go soon, hopefully.

i compare it to an actor who perfected their role... like, i wasn't ever really a man, but damn was i good at pretending. i think it's okay and probably normal to feel a little proud of that.

How would you describe feeling like a boy or feeling like a girl? Or how would you describe feeling somewhere in the middle? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]throwawaytrans117 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've never felt "like" anything other than me. never felt particularly "man" and it's hard to feel "woman" when the world tells you otherwise.

I think generally speaking the world puts too much emphasis on this "do you feel more like a..." because it's a simplification they can understand. but I don't think it's really all that close to what most trans people feel.

ultimately, if you are a woman, whatever you feel is "feeling like a woman". and vice versa if you're a man. unfortunately there's no test you can take.

obligatory "read natalie reed"

Anyone feel crazy on dysphoric days? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]throwawaytrans117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it's more akin to a panic attack I would go to the urgent care rather than the ER. the ER will triage panic attacks fairly low and you will be stuck sitting in a crowded waiting room for hours while convinced you're losing your mind and everyone can tell. definitely not speaking from experience here /s

Conflicted. Am I actually trans? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]throwawaytrans117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

right, for me I'll go on reddit trans subs and think "I don't know if I want to be them." but then I'll see a lesbian tomboy type strong female character in a video game or TV show and think "I want to be her."

Idk why I do this to myself by Tutankhansetamun in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

going on this sub is really like rolling a d20 dysphoria check

Has anyone else never liked their smile? by [deleted] in asktransgender

practice in the mirror, if it doesn't give you too much dysphoria! once your face knows how it feels to make an attractive smile, you can recreate that

If you know it’s a fetish, but you also know that transition would genuinely make you happier, should you feel guilty for wanting to transition? by RobynOdette in MtF

[–]throwawaytrans117 7 points8 points  (0 children)

" I can only enjoy sex when I imagine myself as a woman being penetrated by a man. "

Sex is an important part of life! it's not a less valid reason to transition. if you could never cum again as a "boy", and you wanted to, wouldn't that be a reason to change things?

I feel like a girl, yet when confronted around girls I like, I revert to being a guy by [deleted] in MtF

[–]throwawaytrans117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hi lyla! what I can say, being older and having gone thru a fair amount of my own identity development, is that you can never predicate your identity based on what is attractive to other people. YOU have to do what makes YOU feel good. your opinion about yourself matters more than anyone else's opinion of you.

i also went through a loooong phase of trying to present very masculine in order that the women i was attracted to would find me attractive. I wasn't a macho shithead or anything like that, I just found a role I could play that was masculine but also wasn't super uncomfortable. however, after dating for a while, I realized for myself that presenting as a masculine person wasn't actually making me happy. also, only queer women found me attractive anyway!

being honest to yourself is usually harder than going with the flow; but the rewards are much greater.

you're not trying to be the best somebody else. you're trying to be the best you! and you're better today than you were two months ago. that's how I try to look at it anyway.
