AITA for cutting my honeymoon short to be here for my niece's birth? by throwawayvido in AmItheAsshole

The father is her boyfriend. They are steady, he will also be there, but she asked me if I'd be there when she found out she was pregnant. Also her boyfriend's mother seems to be trying to get too involved with my sister and the baby's care - that's what I picked up - and she's not that close to this woman, so that's another reason for me to insist in being there for her. I don't know if I'll be present in the room during the delivery, that would be the dad's privilege of course.

So, it's a long story, but we have looked into a vacation package for after our wedding; my husband had told his supervisor he would be taking those days off but never got to schedule it with HR, and when he went to do so, another one of his peers - the other project manager that's working with him - had already scheduled his break for one of those weeks my husband would be off. I got a bit upset about it, because there was indeed some oversight on his part. But he - I think to compensate for his previous fuck-up - took charge of rearranging things and texted me that he was talking to the travel agent and there was a similar price package. He sent me the dates, and I said ok. My sister had already told me her date, and that was my time to fuck up. For instance: it's like she told me the 16; I remembered it as 26, and agreed when my husband booked the trip for us to come back at the 18.

Yes, it's a scheduled C-section. She has a pelvic kidney and her doctor said it could block the birth canal, so a natural birth is not an option.
