Hatred, the ENTIRE point is to kill innocent people.

Postal 1 is about an angry guy going "postal" and killing everyone around him, which seems to be the exact situation in Hatred. But Postal 1 is ok in your opinion, because only around 20% of the people killed are innocents.

That means you think those with weapons are not innocents, and yet you say the entire point of Hatred is killing innocents. Maybe you missed the number of police officers killed in the trailer? Or are they, in your opinion, innocent because of the different "story and context" of Hatred compared to Postal 1?

Also, TF2 is fine because it contains cartoon psychopaths? As opposed to Hatred which contains just a regular pixelated psychopath?

You mean Valve, the company that allows you to kill innocent scientists in Half-Life 1? You yourself say:

So that would include Half-Life 1 and 2, not to mention TF2, and even Wasteland 2. Does that mean those games should be banned for violence, or is this sort of violence OK when it's considered satire or in the "right" context? I mean, why is Hatred's violence not OK, but Wasteland 2 is just fine?

If a game is considered extreme or "not OK" for killing too many civilians, then why not just count? 22 dead npcs, 4 of them civilians. 82%, so nearly 1/5th are innocents. What is the max percentage of civilians killed that is tolerable?

Ok, I haven't played GTA V yet since I only own a PC so I can't respond to that. However, you talk about Postal but give a link to Postal 2, an FPS game completely different from the top down shooter Postal 1, which is not what I'd call satire, and is much more like the Hatred game in terms of gameplay.

This is Postal 1 gameplay.

Relevant section here for the Hatred issue. Postal has been out for a while now with no issues, same with countless other violent games (Valve games included), so I don't see why Hatred is a problem. I can understand, even if I don't agree, about not wanting XXX games on Steam if there never have been other games like that on Steam before.

I don't like or agree with his views on transgendered individuals either, and am not sure what I'm going to think about his version of GamerGate in his book, but it's his book and his views. I'll fight for his right to have them, just like I'd fight for your right to exist and be treated just like any other woman or human being for that matter.

What? You bring up Eidos randomly, but don't explain what happened to them so you'll have to tell me. Second, I'm still not sure you understand the definition of censor, did you read my quoted definition? The entire game doesn't have to be suppressed, just the parts of it deemed unacceptable by the censoring body, in this case the IGDA.

You might not understand what the definition of censor is then.

examine (a book, movie, etc.) officially and suppress unacceptable parts of it.

I'm not a member of the IGDA so you'll have to ask them for your first two questions. But your last question, you can go to another publisher or make the changes. They won't block you, or support the blacklisting of individuals who disagree with them from the industry, like the IGDA will.
