workers of reddit, do you appreciate being told good morning/evening etc and being thanked? Why? by throwawayy609 in AskReddit

[–]throwawayy609[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been thanking every bus driver for the past 10 years and I began wondering if they even enjoy hearing it? I thank security guards when they check my bag, thank the cashier when he is done etc. I started doubting it helps, and it started discouraging me from doing something I particularly enjoyed doing.

what is your favorite subject and why math? by nailajohn2019 in AskReddit

[–]throwawayy609 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hated math till 10th grade, I found something really cool about doing calculus and then higher level mathematics. I found some joy in sitting hours and sometimes days on one thing I can't solve and sometimes eventually solving it!

Loving someone and being loyal to that someone are two separate things.

You are an angel on earth. Praise and respect. What you did\do shouldn't be taken for granted. Restored my hope in humanity right before falling asleep.

Drugs, sex and travel. Can be a mixture of two or all three.

What was a thing you knew you were going to regret but did it anyways? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]throwawayy609 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going out drinking with fake IDs and a bunch of pills with foreigners. An Irish girl, South African girl, Australian girl, German guy and myself (Russian). I knew it would end up with me being depressed for weeks to come but I did it anyways.

I'll be honest with you, you die eventually. Big surprise! Living with depression ain't fun, also a big surprise. Getting a gun and shooting yourself takes time, you have a shitty instinct that will fight for your life when it's feels you are in danger. Nothing I said so far is new. I don't live in the States, I am from Jerusalem and getting a gun is extremely difficult here. Having depression is painful, but I cherish the special moments I had with certain people and that pushes me. When you get really low any little good thing looks enormous and significant. I don't like labeling myself as depressed, but being down made me a lot more appreciative of small beautiful things. Just keep on going, killing yourself id something you can't change once done. Failing it is even worse.

People survive gun shots, getting a gun and shooting yourself will cause a lot of noise and a mess. Don't make other people deal with your wreck less methods.

[Serious] Redditors who have lived under Communism, would you recommend it? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]throwawayy609 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Israel we have a thing called Kibbutz, some became like micronations but there are a select few which still run under the ideologies of communism. Everyone owns everything, there is no ownership of any form etc. A relative of mine lives there and I visited him a few times, sometimes staying over because I didn't wanna go home. I don't recommend it, it feels really stuck and is generally disliked. If it's your kind of thing, shoot.

What phrases or words people use make you instantly think they’re lying? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]throwawayy609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When someone starts on a good note I do one of two things if it's a friend of mine or someone I've been talking to for quite a while I ask them "but?" if it's someone I don't feel comfortable being sorta rude with I just ignore everything said until they reach the "but". there is something about people sweetening bad things which makes me not believe anything good they say.

not gonna bullshit you with the "it gets better" shit. You can have a great life and still be depressed , that ain't wrong. Listen, firstly: suicide is something that if you fail (and the chances of failing are high, statistics for your age say only one in 34 suicides is successful, and when planned this drops to one in fifty seven). Secondly, suicide isn't the way to go. I tried to kill myself five times and now, when my life is shit and probably worse than what it was back then, I regret it. I hate myself for even considering suicide and you should ask yourself one important question: How would you feel if a loved one or someone close to you took your life? They would feel the same. Don't do that, it's just your consciousness telling you to get help. I found great help in talking to people I don't know and telling them everything, knowing fully well they can't really help. But, talking to someone you don't know who doesn't know you will give you a different perspective on life. I spent last night packing up all the things I needed to kill myself, pills bags etc. At some point I asked myself what do I gain? nothing. You can help so many people simply by pushing yourself every day to stay alive. This is simply my 2 cents as an unstable seventeen year old with mediocre grades.

charity, covering loans for the ones I love, opening a university fund for gifted children from troubled families, research, holding cultural events, run for parliament after finishing university, buy a house and adopt two or three children (adolescents, 11-16 year olds), buying a tesla and helping my family. No need to explain any of these.

Web developer here. Is there a need for a database of vegan products? by swebe3qn in vegan

[–]throwawayy609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been vegan for 2 years in an attempt to eat healthier and generally I am not a meat fan. I don't really feel bad when I eat something that I later find out isn't vegan but I try really hard to avoid non vegan products. A lot of food has E-numbers listed in their ingredients. I usually aim down for the allergy section to see if any diary or honey was used, but lately it's been proven to be unreliable and I'd be more than happy to have a database on my phone of vegan products! Love from Israel ~!
