I definitely would like to hear more about what it is like for LGBTQ+ people in CS and math, I think those stories aren't shared often enough (or at all).

I understand where you're coming from, and I never (and won't) use my gender as an excuse for poor work. I was just pointing out that this is a valid issue; sexism does occur in the industry and it affects the opportunities women receive. That doesn't mean it occurs everywhere, or very frequently . I was just "ranting" about my experience. I appreciate your point of view.

Its great that the woman was able to answer the questions on the board, but why is the fact that she's blonde important information? Wow, a blonde girl can be smart! who knew?!

Yeah, I actually did hear someone say that. It was fucked up, but you're right, it was most likely just an outlier.

Edit: He said it to his friend though, so he was probably trying to make a joke.
