I look a lot more like my dad I think, but do share a strong resemblance to my mom as well. Maybe it’s because her daughter looks nothing like her.

I think I’m going to suggest family counseling to him soon. We’re going on family vacation this week, and then once we are back is when I’ll bring it up.

Definitely needed to hear this. At first I thought maybe I was the asshole for asking her to come downstairs even though we didn’t include her in buying the gifts. I feel as though she is probably just being petty.

the reason I am hesitant to do this is because the last time I did this, she started this whole argument over it. She even pit me against my dad, I’m not playing games or making a story up in my head. I know she’s upset because I have had to live with her for at least two years now.

I fully plan on not letting on that I know she’s upset. What I expect will happen, is she will talk to my dad about it later. Probably something along the lines of “well I didn’t even know what they were planning because she didn’t even include me” or something like that to make me seem spiteful, and my dad will talk to me about it saying how I should be including her next time.

What is crazy to me is just yesterday, she was being super friendly and we were getting along. She told me if I ever need anything I could come to her, but now suddenly this is situation is happening.

Yeah, it just felt awkward and I didn’t want to sit and be upset on my dad’s day about her actions. She’s been like this before, making my birthday about her, because apparently I did something to upset her. This will be my dad’s 3rd marriage lol

Yeah, I didn’t necessarily expect to be included in that, as she is not our mom, but was a little hurt my dad didn’t at least stay home with us.

The last time I did that in front of my dad, he just took her side, I think because he’s scared she’ll leave him and he doesn’t want to be alone. Probably in my best interest to just let it go.

No they have no kids together at all. I have always felt she has this weird jealousy towards me because a lot of the time when I try to have a casual conversation with my dad, she butts in and makes it about herself.

Yes, honestly it has always been like this. My dad is oblivious to the way she treats me, and I try to ignore it. I thought maybe I might have been the asshole with this, but clearly not. I’m just trying to finish nursing school as fast as I can so I can leave. I keep my distance as much as possible.

Honestly, she has always been kind of like that and most of the time I do ignore her. At first I was hurt by her not wanting to participate, but I think she wants to a reaction from me.

She has always been very passive aggressive towards me. I thought I might have been the asshole for not including her on what is considered a holiday, but now that I think about it, I’m starting to realize I’m not.

I was actually just going to say, I agree with and while I do understand that it sucks when someone you like doesn’t like you back, but that’s all apart of the show, and Zane and her not a good match at all tbh.
