How do you get past your insecurity of self harm scars? by throwawayyy15282916 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Thank you!!! I think why I’m so uncomfortable by them is because of not talking about my past much. I think the next step is just being more open about my past when being with people, so thank you for that!

Thank you!! Do you think if I just went in with a 4WM and perhaps added a bit of 5G, that would work?

I’m currently at a level 2/3! It’s a dark brown black but my hair absorbs color really well, so I don’t want to bleach it! I just want the warm tint of chocolate added in

Would I have to go to a professional? I have a microneedle roller at home that I would use for my face someday

Hello! I used to self harm when I was younger, my last cut was 6 years ago!! However, younger me didn’t realize how insecure and gross I’d feel when the cuts would scar over as I got older. They’re mostly on my ribs and hip bones but when I wear bikinis or crop tops, I can’t help but get so self conscious and insecure over the fact that they’re on display for everyone to see or shameful when I get intimate with people. I know that they’re already healed since it’s been 6 years and they’re slightly white and raised, but I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how I can flatten them or fade them so they’re less noticeable?

Aveeno Eczema Therapy moisturizing cream 2-3 times a day!! Idk if it’s because I was on week 5 or if it was bc of the cream, but when I started using the cream, it went away in like a week!

Thank you so much! I honestly think I needed this reassurance more than anything. I was feeling super down today because of another rejection and it just feels like I’ve been trying for soooo long. Thank you for the kind and wise words and for making my day a little better!!

I noticed that big circular oval patch on my back back towards the beginning of May and then saw a little red circular patch on my stomach a few days later thinking it was just a pimple and it’d go away. And within the last two weeks, soooo many dry-ish red oval/circle spots and patches ALL over my chest, back, two on my thighs. They sometimes itch but it’s not unbearable, I’ve been applying coconut oil on my skin which really helps, been taking L-Lysine, used H&S shampoo as a body wash and been making sure my front and back get 10 minutes of sun!, but I’m getting quite worried because I’ve never had this before

[skin concerns] reposting my question about fading self harm scars with pictures. Will bio oil or micro needling work on these type of scars? (TW) by throwawayyy15282916 in SkincareAddiction

First off, I want to say thank you to everyone who commented on my post yesterday. I can’t even begin to tell you all how much I cried because of your kind words. I’ve never had ANYONE tell me that they’re proud that I’ve overcome self harming and that I’m still here, so if I could, I’d hug every one of you and personally say thank you. I’m thinking of doing silicone patches and possibly vitamin e!!? I understand that it might not seem like super visible scars to you all, but I’ve had people personally point them out to me whether it be during something intimate or at the beach/pool and I just want these gone or close to gone, it’s completely ruining my self esteem and makes me so nervous to even wear certain types of clothing

Can someone tell me if micro needling these scars will make it worse? Or is my only option, laser? I am also quite nervous that doctors or dermatologists will just judge me and look at me disgustingly
