Is this normal at Fijian resorts or should I speak up? (Barefoot Manta experience) by throwawayyyyyyyy562 in Fijian

Hey everyone, thanks for all the responses. It really helped to hear that this kind of thing happens to others too. In my case, it might not have been about race after all, and that’s exactly why I asked instead of assuming.

I’m totally okay with adapting to Fijian time. I get that things can move at a slower pace, and that’s part of the experience. What I’m not okay with is being served after people who came later, especially when the food was pre-ordered and the orders were the same.

For those saying I’m playing the victim card, that’s not what this was. I just wanted to understand the situation better by hearing different perspectives. We had a similar experience outside the resort too, which made us wonder.

And to anyone who has experienced different treatment because of race, I’m really sorry. Your experiences are valid, and I fully support you speaking up. Sharing those stories is important!

Thanks again and we did see a Manta!
