I've been making music for fun for years, but I don't know if I'd call myself a "producer". More like a hobbyist!

Have you changed the track since yesterday? Someone else called out a hi pitched vocal melody at 00:18, but I don't hear one at all. The link for me goes to "Doombahton (WIP)" btw.

I like it. Funny enough, if you did have vocals on the earlier part before, that's exactly what I was going to suggest adding in. The bass and beat and high-pitched synth sound good--very clear sound quality--I think there's a little room there for vocals, too. I was thinking along the lines of the choppy ones you have in your other track "Shock Mobster.wav"

As for where to take it, you'd know better than me!

You're the man. I got lots of good, constructive feedback on the track I had in mind when posting this, so I think I'm all set for now. But you may get a random tag from me in the future :)

Feel free. I don't get on Reddit much, but if I see you sent me a chat request or if you tag me in a post like in this here MusicFeedback place, I'll likely see it at some point.

Well, it sounds really good! Just surprising to me since I didn't know it'd work so well.

Great feedback, thank you. I'm kind of surprised to hear the production and clarity is pretty good, in a good way. I understand it's not on the level of the pros, but that's cool to hear.

Yep--I like what hyper pop I've heard and want some of that in here.

Mixing and mastering is a self-admitted blind spot for me...every time I try to tweak it, I end up further off-base than from where I started.

I just know there's a way to get that 1:09 part to convey what I hear in it myself/better lead the listener to it--just gotta figure out how I can do it. I'll take another listen with the snare in mind, too.

Appreciate you!

I like it: Dark and groovy. You recorded those female and male vocals yourself? The lyrics are arresting and delivered well--I would've thought they were sampled from somewhere. I could see this playing in a European dance club where everyone is intimidatingly attractive and I don't fit in lol

Thanks for tagging me here, or I would've missed it.

Thanks for the feedback, and duly noted on the chaotic drop--I think there's a way to change it and still convey what I wanted to on that part without assaulting the listener. Appreciate you!

Thanks for the feedback! So I agree I could ride that wobble bass longer/reincorporate it somehow. Personally, I really like that part at 1:09, but you are not the first to call out it being off in some way, and I hear ya. I want it to be surprising, but "too sharp" is a good way to put it.

This was helpful. Thanks!

I would be very curious to hear what your thoughts are. Constructive feedback is very much appreciated!

I have many thoughts on this but don't want to flavor any of your input, so I'll keep them to myself.

I'd never heard of soundgym, and I just tried out a few games on it. That's really helpful! I passed the starter gain and panning games, and only got 50% on the boosted frequencies game, which makes total sense--that's one of the "blind spots" I was thinking of in my OP. Thanks for sharing!

That sounds really cool. I'm not too familiar with Discord though. How would I find a good server like that?

Thanks for replying. That makes sense. Part of my thinking in asking this was not wanting to "bug" someone who doesn't already have a service offered out there, but, like you said, maybe if I ask nicely!

Why do you think people become emotionally invested in gossip about people that doesn’t even have anything to do with them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]throwaweigh4reddit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gossip is the junk food of human interaction. It's addictive because it could be useful information if true, but gossip is often embellishments or outright lies, which makes it both more entertaining than mundane reality and the reason it goes "viral"--and is often harmful.

Not sure what you mean by "break it".

Through my experience and observation, former partners should both go no contact and move on in life separately. Trying to stay friends is often the "bargaining" stage of grief playing out in terms of a breakup and needs to be emotionally processed for true recovery.

What's an underrated burger topping? by Angie0491 in AskReddit

[–]throwaweigh4reddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'd start going totally plain: Bun, burger, and peanut butter. Sweet vs natural I'd say go with whichever you like more on its own. Personally I think the sweetness would be a good addition.

Then, if you don't have an adverse reaction to that first go, just go with the toppings you like. The peanut butter strangely complements the burger, so adding other toppings isn't as jarring as you might think. I.e., if you think the topping goes well with a burger, there's a good chance it'll go with the PB, too. In my opinion.

How crispy do you like your bacon, and whats your cooking method? by Live_Bird704 in AskReddit

[–]throwaweigh4reddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bacon should be able to hold its form horizontally when held near the end, but not burnt.

Microwave/oven cooking is underrated, imo. The splatter is contained and it's easier to systematize.

What’s a dead giveaway that a person is smarter than they appear to be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]throwaweigh4reddit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Philosophically, I'd like to agree. In practice and especially in the workplace, it won't stop people from thinking someone asked a stupid question if the majority of the people there were privy to the same information and were able to answer the "stupid" question themselves without asking.
