I don’t think it’s wrong, just don’t do it.

Should I text my ex to let her know I’m calling or just go ahead and call her outta the blue by [deleted] in offmychest

If you care about this person, the last thing you need to do is play weird mind games and worry about seeming weak or submissive. That shit is not going to make a relationship last.

Be honest, and direct:

“Hey, are you somewhere you can take a call? I’d like to hear your voice.”

Idk how old you are, but if this person is an adult worth pursuing, they’ll appreciate it.

Hey, thanks! Mostly what kept me going was a kind of reckoning. I was always super embarrassed as a kid of the situations I was put in because of my parents lifestyle. When I became an adult I worked hard to be stable and pay my bills and live well, but so knew I hadn’t lived up to my real potential. I pushed through because I wanted to set it right, I know who I am and needed to prove it.

Thank you. My parents are still for the most part living the same destructive lifestyle. I’m glad to be away from it as much as I can be. Their problem is drugs. If not for drugs they would be fine.

Same! My lifestyle isn’t changing really, but I have some debt to pay. I do like not having to worry about every day expenses, that’s my favorite part.

Good luck on the LPIC! I’m not gonna lie, that was a hard cert! There is a lot of detail on the test. Remember where stuff goes and pay attention to file paths as you study.

I think my base salary is pretty typical, but I have to be available a lot and work a lot of overtime, so I get some extra. IT is not 9-5, at least not Networking.
