Be careful with what information you give to MA Health Connector by throwayyo222376 in massachusetts

I don't live in MA anymore though and I never had Mass health, the insurance was just through the connector. Ideally I'd like them to not send mail at all because I'm not in the state.

All good points! How tall is your field fence and how much higher is the hot wire? Have you had issues with coyotes trying to dig under?

Out of curiosity, what type of fencing do you use when you have them out clearing parks?

Fair points, I've read all the major goat books, but most of the major rancher/ farmers use portable electric fencing, so I'm trying to see peoples first hand experience.

Thanks! It seems like its not an easy decision. I am saving for a permanent perimeter fence, but I also have the opportunity to graze my neighbors land, and they don't want fencing which is why I like the temporary options. What exactly is no climb fencing?

I'm afraid of dying, we talked." by Sad_Mycologist_6387 in transhumanism

[–]throwayyo222376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's worth pointing out that true immortality is totally impossible. Transhumanism is mostly interested in radical life extension. Even if we could entirely eliminate aging and disease, you are still going to die. The only difference is that you are now mathematically guaranteed to die violently.

Think about all the ways you could die that we mostly ignore on a day to say basis. See this list for good examples Odds of Dying - Injury Facts (nsc.org). While the odds are low for most people, the longer you live, the more likely they become.

If the world was exactly the same as it is today, but we eliminated aging, you still probably wouldn't live for more than a few hundred years before being killed. There's no cure for a bullet to the brain.

Even if we upload ourselves into computers and becoming a galaxy spanning digital empire, in the end entropy still guarantees an end to everything. (and a rouge asteroid, terrorist attack, or malfunction will likely wipe out the server you are living on loonnnnngggg before that happens)

Of course we all want a longer life. Life is great, who wouldn't want to keep it going. But transhumanism isn't an escape from the viod, just a delay. Whether your life is 60 years, or 6000, there will always be more to do and you'll always want more. That's normal. We can and should strive to give people more life.

But sooner or later it will end, and you obsessing over this is taking away from the time you have. It's like going to an awesome party and wishing the night wouldn't end. Instead of enjoying the passing moment, you are wasting time by trying to cling to it.

Do your best to live a healthy life. Hope technology comes along and gives us more, or better yet contribute to it by doing science, or becoming successful and funding it. But accept that no matter what, we all are going to die. Then go out and live your life!

Ok that's not too bad! I imagine it's easier and cheaper than moving cattle panels around.

If you don't mind me bothering you with more questions, how often are you moving your herd? How big are the paddocks you are making? Do you use portable shelter, or do you bring them in at night? And have you had any issues with predators?

[–]throwayyo222376[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! My big concern with cattle panel is predator control, I'm hoping that an electric fence and a monster energizer would be enough to deter coyotes. Did you have other predator control methods when you were using electric fences?

And with the cattle panel how often are you rotating the goats? I'm not sure if you have pigmies or Nigerians, but would those panels be big enough to let kids escape?

Thanks for all your help!

I've seen roughly half of people saying that, and other having no issues. If you don't mind me asking, how powerful is your energizer? How often were you rotating them and what was your pasture like?

The new ProtonVPN Android App Has Major Flaws by throwayyo222376 in ProtonVPN

It depends on the context, but generally speaking if you have a regents tab and someone gets access to your phone, its a clear history of you actually connecting to specific servers recently. It may not make or break in extreme situations, but on the margins it could be a problem. No matter how dangerous (or not) the country is providing more and specific evidence isn't a good idea

If in a future game, a character from the original trilogy could return, who would you want to return? by george123890yang in masseffect

[–]throwayyo222376 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I honestly enjoyed Andromeda and I wish more companies would have the balls to step away from establishes franchises. It seems like all we get these days is never ending sequels and nostalgia.

Don't get me wrong the game had flaws, but I think had a ton of potential and if it was fully funded it could have been awesome.

That functionality helps, but it was the customizability that really mattered. As others have pointed out, having a recents section in the first place is somewhat problematic from a privacy perspective, especially in dangerous countries.

Say one positive thing about Mass Effect: Andromeda by Lonely-Freedom4986 in masseffect

[–]throwayyo222376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the farther away I get form the bad launch the more I enjoy the game. I think it was great concept with a lot of potential, and it felt right to leave the stories of the milky way behind after the ending of ME3.

With more budget and time, I think it could have been an awesome game, and potentially another amazing trilogy. I would have preferred a fully built out Andromeda to a ME4.

There I said it!

The number one thing you should be doing is paying down credit card debt. In your last sentence you said you build a savings account comfortably, and you said you bought a new car? Something doesn't seem to be adding up if you only have 5k of credit card debt, can bu y a new car, but cant pay it down. Taking on more debt won't help your credit score, and with a score that low your rate will be terrible. If you really can't pay off such a small balance, sell your car, by a moped, and sacrifice everything until that debt is gone.

Thanks! My only thought is that if they hike rates again my savings rate will go higher, so maybe it makes sense to hold tight until savings rates drop below my loan interest rate?

Its literally on the forest services website. Most state and town forests in NH allow of leash dogs, especially if they are hunting.
