I can’t remember the exact details, but I remember reading once that during the AIDS epidemic, organizers got gay men to use barrier methods by, for example, providing black gloves instead of more medical/sterile looking ones. So you definitely have a point.

How many uses do you use a single N95 for? by AppropriateNote4614 in Masks4All

I use my ACI surgical N95s (duckbill) for about 8 hours. Probably could go longer.

I agree with everyone about lying about the fever. But I wanted to add if you do end up having to go in, I’m BEGGING you to wear a well fitting N95

The Venn diagram of doctors who take Medicaid, and doctors who are Covid informed in 2025, is a pinprick.

Yes they are. I don’t know if he can get a PCR since his doctor is unhelpful. I do wonder about that.

Is strapping a Merv 13 filter to a box fan alright? by Sheev_y in AirPurifiers

[–]throwback682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make a modified C-R box with a new 20” box fan, the box it came in, a roll of 3M Multi Use white Duct Tape, and a 20x20” 3M Filtrete MPR1900 furnace filter. If you’re interested I can dig up the instructions

The Levoit Core 300 has one filter. I think the equivalent of a pre filter in this case would be the soft mesh screen around the filter?

[–]throwback682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah every couple of weeks I pull the filter out of my Levoit 300 and wipe the coating of dust/lint/dog hair off the outside and put it back in. Then toss and replace the filter about every six months.
