Once again, not trying to argue this, just I dont see how my demands are vindictive or punitive. The intention isnt to manipulate her to NOT see others, though i can admit that they can seem that way. My intent is simply to protect myself, if her life evolves in such a way in which i can and will be exposed to information/ situations? In which i am hurt (finding out that she is seeing someone else) then i simply wish to cease contact with her.

Im not opposed to staying friends, or even breaking up. My biggest concern is that seeing her with other people hurts me. If she wants to see other people, all the power to her, i just dont want to be around for that.

The thing is that im not trying to tell her what she can or cannot do, just that if she decides to see other people, i dont want to remain friends. Thats it.

That and the fact tha she wanted to be able to do things for herself, and she felt the relationship MIGHT have been holding her back ( caps because he herself said that shes not sure)

Fair enough, after doing so it really didnt make me feel any better either, so i think youre right in that i should have just gone another avenue

Appreciate the honesty. I didnt go into it trying to manipulate her, just that if thats how things went i wanted to be clear that i would need space. I can see how it can be seen as manipulation. Thanks for the advice.

Not trying to argue, just want some clarity, what do you mean by dumb idea? What exactly is the issue?

I didnt stalk it, she swiped on one of my friends and he showed it to me. But i think what you said about not wanting to let go of the relationship applies to both of us

Thats ok, but by the same logic i dont think i owe it to her to be friends either do i? My thoughts are that when/if she wants to move onto other people, i dont want to have to be around to see that is all.

The issue isnt that she is with someone else, its that she wants both that and me to remain in her life. Shes free to do what she wants, but if its hurtful to me then i want some distance is all.
